Just wish Batum woulda made that three in Chicago.......................damn, woulda been 5-0

Big win! 4-1 road trip and close to 5-0!

Nice to see Batum not wilt after a great game. 52 points in 2 games!

I'm sorry, but I'm a score-runner-upper. I don't believe in fearing the other team's retribution. Do they really need to get up for a game by remembering a pointless three after the game was decided? Who cares. I wish he had run in and dunked it in Zach's face. :)

I don't get the Howard love, but I thought Nate did a decent job in the second half with the rotation

I'm a fan of that last three!

I have Nic on both my fantasy teams!

Outstanding second half! 62-41 to come back and take a big road win from a team that really needed it.

Fuck Comcast. I didn't get to see the game.

If the clock had been off and Nic took the three it's a problem, but he takes a shot or takes a turnover by not shooting it, so ... :dunno:

Nate apologists.........please explain how 47 yr old Juwan Howard can get 23 mins while Dante Cunningham gets fucking 3???? Nate is a dipshit.

Do not taunt happy fun ball, do not stare at happy fun ball ...

Cunningham was way overmatched trying to guard Randolph.

It's not like Howard shut him down, but Cunningham looked like a rookie trying to guard an all-star.

My two favorite late-game plays:

1) Roy's fumble pass to Batum on the baseline for the half-jam

2) Camby's tip-in off Roy's errant layup

I'm pretty comfortable saying Batum is solidly a part of the core.

Jury's still out on Bayless and Fernandez, but Batum joins Roy and Aldridge (and Oden if he's healthy) as foundations of the team.

Batum blocking Mayo back into college doesn't make your top two? ;)

We were -16 with Howard in the game, and +26 with him out. I don't think his D on Zach made much difference.

Further, Zach and Dante were only on the floor together for two minutes. Zach scored once. He scored a lot more often on Howard.

Yeah, for sure, that was huge. However, it was slightly discounted due to him creating the situation with his own turnover. Just slightly, though. ;)

An odd bit of trivia.

Last season, the Blazers were a stellar 34-7 at home (83%), and a mediocre 20-21 on the road (49%).

This season, they have improved their road record to 55%, but have slumped to 59% at home.

If their problems stem from injuries and being short-handed, that seems counter-intuitive. Shouldn't they be *worse* on the road?

Both increased the teams offensive efficiency.

It's why I keep saying that is a useless stat

Maybe they play harder on the road because they have to - but relax at home - a sign of a mostly young team?

I see a couple of things. They lost a lot of home games with Roy out/gimped and they also got a little bit older which usually means less playing off of emotion; basically a more businesslike attitude makes winning off of crowd energy a little less important and their overall talent level has been down, especially in the front court which means fewer stops.

Another way of looking at it, is they raised their performance floor with some steady vets, but they lowered their ceiling with the loss of so many guys for so many games.

That's a rather good way of putting it.

And this is why I love this forum.

when you think about this season.... its insane the blazers have 36 wins on MArch 1st.
