Blazers have no chance to win this series; are you excited for next season?

I'd be excited if we get a good free agent or someone in trade. Otherwise we're just looking at another 1st round exit (or no playoffs at all if the West is strong)

This is why I didn't want us to make the playoffs. Too soon. We are a cute little team that overachieved.

Visions of Phoenix in my head. Neil's gor his work cut out.

Yeah that's been my biggest concern since we started playing well. Management thinks we're close to contending and brings in vets to win next year. We have a long ways to go to be close to the contenders. Most years we wouldn't have even made the West playoffs with the win total we had this unusual season.

Yeah kind of similar to the Bucks last year. Took advantage of a weak conference to grab a playoff spot.

Rooting with my heart, betting with my wallet. It helps ease the pain.

What does that mean? You put money on the Clippers? Or am I reading that wrong?

I'm saying bet on who you really believe is going to win and then cheer like crazy for the team you love. Sometimes those things line up, sometimes they don't.

I would just not bet. lol.

Winning money when the team you are rooting for loses helps ease the loss. Winning money when your team wins is PRICELESS but you can't rely on that if you're making smart wagers.

To me, it's clear we need to be in the playoffs this year. Players like Allen Crabbe need this experience. Dame and CJ need experience facing this level of defense.

You are entitled to your opinion, but leave the personal insults out of the forum.
I didn't say he is a bad person. I said he is a bad fan. He is. You don't quit on a team when they're down 0-1 in the playoffs.

Well, first, I won't do it.... 2nd, I wouldn't feel right betting against my team.

Well I don't think the series is over, and it's difficult to look ahead because you don't know what the roster will look like...
But...
AC hit his "rookie wall" so he should be back to early season form next year. Heres hoping he puts in the work this offseason to be able to sustain for 82.
CJ I want to see how he improves his decision making. I'd also like Stotts to put CJ in a better position to succeed without the ball. Running CJ off the ball with multiple downpicks/baseline screens etc. CJ can shoot and I'd like to see it more take advantage of. But that requires good solid screens.
Plumlee.... I don't like him personally he's a backup center. More athletic than Freeland, just no 15ft jumper. Guy needs to learn to take charges with how athletic he is.
I'm not sold on Harkless as the starting 3/4 going forward. backup maybe, but he needs to shoot better and play position defense WAY better. Harkless to me is Thomas Robinson. Which is why Portland love shim. But T-Rob was horrible at position defense just like Harkless is. Good at making highlight plays... But highlight plays are just that, highlights. Need to be consistent defensively.

I would much rather bet on the team I'm rooting for but that is a good way to go broke if your team isn't that good. Also, there is a bit of hedging one's bet and not putting all your eggs in one basket. (Investing habit) Rooted for the Ducks against Ohio St in the Natty but the easy money was on the Buckeyes and it also made the loss sting just a bit less with the extra cheese.

Nah. I don't own a tv. Comcast has good internet. But I won't give them money for tv.

Dude. Anytime you want to watch the game on a big screen and then rock out. your more than welcome. And Saturday, IM having a few friends over to jam and then watch the game. Let me know if you want to come, your more than welcome. :) Probably get the grill going too. :)

I predicted the Clippers would win in 5. The top 4 teams in the West are by far superior to the other teams. But still we are the 5th best team, maybe 6th if you count Memphis with Gasol and Conley. Better than we thought. Ahead of schedule. IMO getting your ass kicked is actually a good thing moving forward. Not only for the players but the coaches and GM as well. I don't see a down side here other than I live in LA and Hate the Clippers. But we knew we had some holes.

We exceeded expectations and yes I am excited for next season. A draft pick would have helped us in the playoffs....in maybe 2019.
(if we got lucky.) But for next year our needs have not changed IMO. We need that 3rd.......guy. (Not sure what to call him, Star? Scorer? Go to guy? SF? Post Player? Rim protector? All of them? )

The problem is I just know who in free agency (Or the draft for that matter) who will be a huge differenc emaker. (other than obviously Durant. James or Drummond)

When I watched Barnes go 1-10 when he had his chance with Curry out, or DeRosan go 5-18 in a win....I don't get too confident. So I am excited for next year, but realistic that there is not going to be a quick fix.

Chandler parsons and al horford are the two id go after in hopes of landing one

Clippers may win the series, but who would really care? It's funny that some people expect others to be so outraged if we don't make a deep run. Like they need to manufacture something out of nothing.

News flash: People just wanted to make the playoffs. What happens after that is what it is.

Amen. Now the team is a lost cause if we don't advance and/r win it all right?

PEOPLE GROWTH TAKES TIME!!!!!!!!and experience....

Oh jeez.

Somebody IRL asked me if I thought there was any way the Blazers would bring Batum back.

My response: A) he would need to take a pay-cut; and B) he would have to stop being French. Seriously - what do you say to a question like that?

I'd bring Batum back for the right price.

Sure - but what are the odds of the price being right? That's another bidding war I would be real reluctant to get into.

Maybe this time he'll say through his agent that he wants to come to Portland. :ghoti:
