That many teams, it's not going to be the "right price". It's going to be overpaying.

Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reports on Twitter that the Portland Trail Blazers made an offer to Philadelphia 76ers unrestricted free agent forward Dorell Wright.

Wright, 27, averaged 9.2 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game off the bench for the Sixers last season.

A first-round pick in the 2004 NBA Draft, Wright has spent his nine-year career with the Miami Heat, Golden State Warriors and Sixers. He led the NBA in three-pointers made and attempted in 2010-11 with the Warriors and is a career 36.7 percent three-point shooter.

Wright signed a three-year, $11 million contract with the Warriors in 2010.

Love this idea. Legit SF with a higher PER than Batum.

I guess we made the offer first then it didnt have to be the best offer.

Backup 2/3, I don't think signing him means shop Batum.

If you're a player and your choices include the Spurs and Thunder, do you really consider PDX if we're merely matching the others? We have to surpass them.

Well if you are looking at OKC; then you take into consideration that Durant will suck the life out of your playing time.

Lots of factors. Playing time, role, interest from the team, did they talk specific numbers or just interest. And if you are going to over pay I would rather the hit come here and not on a huge contract

Had this pegged mid-season.

Dorell Wright, Matt Barnes, and one other person were my SF targets

Identifying the needs in the roster (appeasing LA still TBD)....

Addressed the b\u PF with Robinson (Priority #2)
Attempting to address the b\u SF w\ Dorrell Wright (Priority #3)

Still TBD

Addressing the starting center position (Robin Lopez?)
Addressing the b\u PG with a vet (Bobby Brown, DJ Augustin?)

With other teams competing for Dorell Wright, OKC's likely going to have offer something that breaks into the tax, or waive a player.

This move kinda signifies that we aren't gonna tank, right?

At least not initially.

EDIT: I should add that with Allen wanting to win now and Aldridge wanting an improved roster around him I don't think Olshey is really in a position to start a rebuild ... unless the wheels fall off by mid-season.

Back up 2-3 means someone is getting his ass dealt for a center. that is the only thing that makes sense unless we are joining my local 6' 6" and under league
