Did everyone hear the numbers Wheels and 'Tone threw out there?

Dallas was 18-1 after leading at the end of the third

Dallas was 8-1 in games of five or less

An unbelievable victory. I'm so proud of the fight in this team.

From the Yahoo recap:

DALLAS (AP)—Travis Roy scored 23 points, LaMarcus Aldridge(notes) added 19 points and 12 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers rallied in the fourth quarter for an 85-81 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Tuesday night.

Dallas and the refs got owned by our MASH unit! Bittersweet for sure but still a great win!

Amazed that they won. This team certainly plays hard and has guts.

LOL, fantastic. You just can't make this shit up.

At least they didn't call him "Bo Roy".

graet win by our guys. Was great to see them pull that off, not only with Joel going down, but then with that awful 3rd quarter as well. Great to see us pull it off.

Team is now 4-1 in the last five games. Bad things keep happening but somehow the team keeps winning.

Does anyone else think that we won because they didn't game on having to defend Howard instead of Joel? Sometimes, injuries can really mess with the opposition as they're not sure how to adjust.

posted this in the tank thread - if the lakers lose tonight we will be tied for best conference record.

Maybe, but I'd probably give more credit to the Mavs missing 10 free throws, and LA and Howard playing better interior D in the fourth.

The last three wins have all felt like the biggest wins of the year. I could not be prouder of the team.

Okay, KP needs to apply to the league for an exception under the little-known "3 leg race" ruling, which will allow the team to lash Joel's injured right leg to Greg's injured left leg and play out the season in this manner.

"Gregzilla" would count as a single player on the court, and only his outside legs would be used for determining line violations, travelling...

Not only are we short handed, we are beating good teams on the road!

A ruptured patellar tendon could be career threatening.

It can't get any worse than this.

It took McDyess 3 seasons before he could play on it and not re-aggravate it.

From wikipedia

Early in the 2001–2002 season McDyess suffered a serious knee injury, a Patellar tendon rupture, that required season-ending surgery. McDyess struggled to play through the injury, re-aggravating it several times and going through additional surgeries over the next few seasons. He was sidelined due to injury for the remainder of the 2001–2002 season as well as the entire 2002–2003 NBA season. McDyess was traded to the Knicks on June 26, 2002[1] in exchange for Marcus Camby, Mark Jackson and the draft rights to Nenê, the seventh overall pick in the 2002 NBA Draft. McDyess began the 2002–2003 season as a highly anticipated addition to the New York Knicks. But on October 8, 2002, with 1 minute 55 seconds left in an exhibition game against Phoenix, McDyess reinjured the knee while dunking a rebound.[2] He would undergo another surgery four days later. In the 2003-2004 season, McDyess was traded to the Phoenix Suns after just 18 games with the Knicks in an eight-player deal that brought Stephon Marbury to New York.[3] He remained healthy while in Phoenix for the remainder of the 2003–2004 season and became an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2004. In the 2004 offseason, his knee was declared healthy and the Detroit Pistons signed him for the full mid-level exception.

You fucking jinx. You saw Roy flexing his hsoulder and you dare say that?! Take it back! it could always be worse!

Yep I totally agree. This team has faced so much adversity and come through with flying colors IMO. The Blazers have shown the will compete with toughest teams even when the chips are down. They may not have the talent on paper, they may not have numbers, they might even have a lot of guys playing out of position. But they will not let you off the hook easy. They may not win. They come to play. 4 quarters. That I can be proud of.

Game notes:

Lamarcus Aldridge would be a much better player if the team would stop forgetting to use him. 17 points at the half, never really got another offensive look until 2 minutes into the 4th quarter. It's not mystery why we struggled to score during that portion of the game.

JJ Barea draws more short white man fouls than any player in history.:tsktsk:

Bayless continues to impress. The dagger 3. Multiple steals in crunch time, the one off of Dirk was magnificent.

Blake hit some nice 3's tonight. Props to him, looks like maybe he is coming out of tha slump.

Jeff Pendergaph - I thought he did a nice job why he was in there. He picked up a couple of quick fouls, but one of those was total bullshit. I thought he did a great job bringing some muscle to the game against Dampier, and did pretty well on defense. Offensivly, he looked a little lost, but I expect that. He played hard, I am good with that. He definitly has some physicality.

NBDL - Moves like a guy who is 38. Looked like he was slow out there, not used to the speed of the game. I pretty much wondered why Dante Cunningham wasn't out there.

Roy- I can't say enough about this guy. He recognized his shots were falling short, and he started getting to the rim, and that got his game going. His ankle breaker on Howard was beutiful. I bet thats on the NBATV highlights...

Josh Howard looks like his feet are in wet cement. He looked slow, clunky in his movements. He doesn't look healthy.

I thought we should have sent somebody in to whack Dirk on the elbow a couple of times. Just for the hell of it.
