Great job by Nate (That's right) by saving Greg for the second half. That's when the games are won, and smart coaches know that.

Right on the money. Greg picked 2 stupid fouls and Nate was smart to keep him out and tread water for the 2nd - where he dominated.

I'm glad 3rd baseman Casey Blake was able to chip in 14 tonight.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- Brandon Roy scored 20 points, LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 points and 12 rebounds, and the Portland Trail Blazers won their third straight with a 93-79 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

Casey Blake and Greg Oden had 14 points each for Portland, all of Oden?s coming in the second half.

Marc Gasol led Memphis with 20 points, while O.J. Mayo scored 17.

The Grizzlies, who dropped their sixth straight, still were without guard Allen Iverson, who left the team last weekend, with owner Michael Heisley?s blessing, after playing three games on the West Coast.

Memphis center Hasheem Thabeet, the No. 2 overall pick in last year?s draft, suffered a fractured jaw late in the first quarter when he collided with Randolph?s head.

The Trail Blazers have now won eight straight in the series.

I believe he meant $10 dollars total from everyone. There were probably 20 plus people watching that stream, so that's less than a dollar per game. For a stream of that quality, it's worth it imo.
oh.....well, if it didnt lag then maybe it'd be worth it..

Good win - man, I think half the posters here could have beaten Gay in a game of horse. That dude couldn't hit anything.

Solid 2nd half for Oden.

The best defensive game from Blake that I've ever seen.

Roy was solid.

Rudy's shot is much better.

Outlaw took the night off.

Actually it was the opposite from Outlaw. He was trying too hard to impress his family and hometown fans.

Come one now. Nate needed to let Greg play until he fouled out. At least that's what I've been told in post after post by the "smart" posters.

I'm pretty sure most posters that says play him until he fouls out means at ends of games when he is pulled with 5 fouls why not let him play until he fouls out. Kind of misleading taking it out of context like that PapaG.

Um, no. Thanks for the input, however. I've been grilled for saying that Nate is correct in pulling Oden with 2 fouls early in games. I didn't see you in those threads, so I understand the confusion.

I wish they had a better angle on that dunk vs. ZBo.

Actually I posted Oden need a rest at one point when he was pulled and some quesiton it.

But when someone says he has six fouls they usually are not talking early in the game, it's in the 4th when he's pulled and doesn't return to the game.

No need to thank me for my input.

Not even close to the point, but whatever. :devilwink:

The point was Nate needing to let Oden play until he fouled out. You act as if people mean Nate should let him play the first half until he fouls out while people that have said that in the past mean at the end of the game when he picks up a 5th foul and Nate pulls him when he might as well played until he fouls out.

Not if he can't stay on the floor. Did you see the replays of him when he scored? The memphis players were doing much worse to Greg than what Greg did to pick up those two early fouls. The inconsistency with the refs are bullshit. Great job by Nate (That's right) by saving Greg for the second half. That's when the games are won, and smart coaches know that.

Agree. Oden is getting pounded inside compared to way they are calling it when Oden is on defense. One play Oden powered right through Gasol's arms for a layup. Another player tries that on Oden, they fling their arms, lose the ball and Oden gets called with the foul. And don't even get me started with body fouls . . .

Solid win by the Blazers . . . road games are getting easier, signs the team is maturing (I know Griz aren't that good)

Yes. I've had those conversations with posters here. I wasn't in the game thread. People have said that Nate needs to let Greg play through his early 2 fouls. It's on the board. I'm not making it up. :dunno:

Oden just doesn't look like a #1 pick...so stiff and awkward.

fast forward to the 2nd half...

STOMP

I guess I didn't realize that Joel was in such foul trouble. I still think it's a legitimate question. Why are both our centers always in foul trouble?

Could someone tell me something about the rotations in the game; it was on too early for me to watch it here. I see that Blake and Miller had 31 minutes and Bayless only 4; so is one of those three always on the court? Does Nate drop one of them out of the first unit early and then bring him back in with the second unit? And who was that?

From Jason Quick:

Oden said McMillan has presented him with a hard-and-fast rule: One foul per quarter. In other words, if he has two fouls before halftime, he is going to sit.

"Coach told me he is giving me a foul a quarter; I have to be more careful with that," Oden said. "I definitely didn't want to get those two fouls that quick, but I knew it. I knew it. I said whenever I get the chance to get back in, I was going to go back in with energy."

I think it's a good thing. I want Oden conscious of his fouls. He needs to play smart. Once he has mastered this foul problem, then it will become less of an issue. Right now, however, the most important thing is keeping him on the floor. I'd rather he play a little tentative on the defensive end and play, rather than be super aggressive and sit.

I'm in the same boat. At first I heard about this new rule Nate imposed and thought it was a bit silly and kind of rigid, but after some reflection I think it's important for Nate to hold him accountable and to help keep him cognizant of what he's doing out there on D. Greg's biggest sin is that he actually tries on defense on every possession; most guys in the league don't seem to attack guys quite as forcefully as GO tends to do on a possession to possession basis, if they are beat they'll usually retreat or step away.

The fouls are are really the only thing I see holding him back from being a 32+ minute a night guy. His offensive moves are starting to look patient, controlled and dominant, he's blocking shots at a ridiculous rate, he looks active, healthy and mobile, he just can't seem to avoid the whistles.

Hello guys,

I just created an account because I was notified that the password to my stream was leaked here.

I'd like to mention that the password was private, and not to be distributed except by my own invitation only. It is mentioned *very often* in the channel that the password is not to be shared publicly.

Thanks for your interests, and I hope you respect my wishes in the future.
