Blazers @ Miami Game Thread: Greg Oden's Debut Do-Over

Oden looks like an adult playing against children. He's grabbing everything he wants.

I like how Oden isn't pushing it. Immediately when the double team comes he passes it out.

We have Greg Oden against Joel Flippin' Anthony, and Channing Frye takes a 20-footer. Ugh. We had more time than that.

Honestly, someone needs to teach Greg Shaq's baseline spin move. All he has right now is the back-down, then skip pass to the wing if he can't dunk it. Baseline spin move, up-and-under dunk!

Jon Barry: "I think Oden can be a multiple time DPOY and the best defensive player in the league.....and I'm talking soon."

This is a good team to start Oden against because they are so small in the frontcourt.

Oden's court vision and passing out of the post looks really good. He seems unhurried and poised. As he becomes comfortable and practiced in his post offense, he's going to be unguardable. One on one, he'll kill post-defenders. Double or triple team him and he'll hit cutters and perimeter shooters for wide-open opportunities.

Rave reviews in limited sample by Oden. He's made the right pass every time down the court, has had good position (although he needs to coral that ball that Wade was OOB on), and obviously the block and dunk.

For the late-night film sessions, Oden needs to watch Shaq and Hakeem. Just pick two moves, and practice them over and over. With the baseline spin and Dream Shake (and the dunk), he'd be pretty darned good.

Oden is tossing that guy around like a rag doll.

Already drawing a double and is effective about kicking out to Fernandez on the elbow for threes. Like the offensive potential there. Could become unstoppable one day.

3 rebounds in the quarter for MIA? Wow.

Quinn, Chalmers, Beasley, Cook on the floor for MIA. That's tiny. Sergio could post up right now.

Does anyone else wish Pat Riley were on the sidelines right now? My hatred for Riley has been burning for 38 years.

He didn't need to travel there. He also should've rolled quicker off the pick...Sergio was looking for him.

Beasley bringing down rain to get it over Oden.

LOL, even after a foul, GO still blocks the shot.

Rudy took the charge before Greg got to swat it.

Oden needs to roll quicker. Rudy was looking for him. Didn't I say that just a second ago? Where's the "Pat my Back" smiley?

Miami players are already scared of driving.... the shot arcs are kinda high. :-)

We're only up nine now. Time for a Nate tongue-lashing timeout. I love it.

We're trying to force it down low to Oden and it's resulting in alot of turnovers, not necassarily Oden turning it over but mostly bad passes and guys not being ready. If the 2nd unit would just play like they have in the last few games I think we'd be doing even better right now, although I'll take an 11 point lead on the road for now.

Sergio and Rudy trying to force feed it to Oden = bad atm. Just give it to him when he's open.

That's what I'm saying though. If that was Frye rolling low, we'd have two dunks.

I can understand wanting Oden to have an awesome game, and pushing it to him.
