I love watching Greg Oden play basketball.

He needs to stay in the game like he did tonight, that's for sure.

Oden: 0 turnovers, 0 fouls. Wow, especially on the fouls.

Man I got home from work just in time for the 3rd quarter - That was some sweet basketball. Greg looked amazing running the court and finishing.

Huge win against possibly the best team in the NBA.

STOMP

We got more ASSISTs than they got Rebounds - seems strange in an awesome kind of way. I can't remember that happening before.

To me, one thing sticks out as the lowlight stat of the game.

Rebounds:
Joel/Oden - 11 each
Rudy - 5
LMA - 4
Martell - 3
Miller, Blake, Roy - 2 each
Bayless - 1

The non-rebounders:
Dante Cunningham in 3:20
Travis Outlaw in 22:37

For a guy who is supposedly athletic, he can't get one rebound in 22 and a half minutes while a much smaller Bayless and someone who is not supposed to be a rebounder gets one in 12 minutes.

One trick pony.

Yeah, sometimes its nice to have that one trick but I just don't see the justification for the time he gets. Then again, I've long been a TO naysayer.

Gramps...

Somewhat misleading. I remember at least a couple occasions where he went up high and tipped the rebound to someone else, like Oden often does. Didn't get credit for it but he was the reason we got the ball.

Whoo hoo. Denver loses. We're tied for first in the division..

But Denver has the tiebreaker. That's why our season is lost. All because Oden missed two free throws.

Oden did have a great game tonight though. He should do that every night.

We've played one game against them. What if we win the next three games against Denver? Is the season lost then?

Please, we do not deal in numbers here, sir. This is why we willingly ignore the fact that Denver still could have won the game if Greg had made the free throws due to a little thing called several seconds left on the game clock.

Damn, stuck with another lame "Co-champions" banner... I wish this season could have gone better.

No, all because Outlaw missed a shot earlier in that game that he could have hit. Had he hit that shot, Portland has two extra points and Oden's free throws don't change the result.

Outlaw destroyed the entire season with one missed shot. :(

Nah not really. You just have to come to terms with the fact that Outlaw is not a rebounding type of player, and then it is much easier to get used to seeing hte low rebound numbers. On the bright side of things, he filled up the hoop. So he made up for it some.

A couple of things I noticed in this game;

The first thing I noticed is that with Steve Blake having a rough first quarter, that Nate sat him down pretty much the whole second quarter except for a minute or two.

The second thing I noticed, is all the players that would be guys that would want that SG spot in the "3 guard lineup" played very well. Like extremely well. Both Rudy and Webster lit it up, were active on D, and even did some playmaking.

I think the best part of Oden's block on Flynn was Flynn fell over or lost his balance afterwards, but it coincided with Oden blocking the ball back into him. Watching it at full speed, live, it made it look like the force of the block knocked him over.

Well said. It was nice to see Rudy find his range again.

Yea I have been waiting for that all season, hoping he wasn't hurt or something and covering it up. Now I want to see him establish some consistency and back it up with a few games in a row of production.

I like seeing him more active on offense too, but I would like to see him settle down just a bit. Last year it seemed like he only stood on the 3 point line unless Sergio was in the game. Now he's definitely driving, slashing, and creating, which is more like the Rudy I saw in the Olympics.

Yea I noticed a few times last night he made a dart to see if they could get a back door lob. It just wasn't open. He was definitly a big piece of that 2nd unit that tuned up the wolves in the 2nd quarter though. I think one of the scariest things I think about is Rudy passing to Joel. I love Joel as a player, but he just isn't very good at catching and finishing, unless the pass is completely perfect. That pick and roll is the play they are running though, and Joel is usually our only big in with that 2nd unit.
