Best Blazer Blogs / Twitter Feeds

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/blog/ba...ciation-Portland-Trail-Blazers?urn=nba,108808

Blazer Banter — Timely news, news, news.
Behind the Beat — Put together by one of the best beat writers in sports, Jason Quick.
Mike Barrett — The PDX play-by-play man always has good stuff.
The Inferno — "Inferno" means "hot," to these eyes. Hot!

3. Blazer's Edge — Some of the more thought-provoking posts in the blogosphere have come from tidy, little site over the last few years.

2. Center Court — Access, access, access. Multimedia content, tons of posts, great stuff to dive into, daily. Amazing that it came in second. Casey runs a fabulous site.

1. The Rip City Project — Coup and SJ write so damn much, it’s amazing that they mostly keep to documenting the ups and downs of just one team. A fantastic blog.

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

Good idea to post. Let's make this thread for people to post any good online Blazer resources they come across.

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

That's fantastic as far as I'm concerned.
Can we get a link to it on the blazer page?

I can add it below the OT forum, if that's good with you guys.

Although I am one who hates clutter at the top of the page, I think the news link is entirely worthy.

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

^^^ Exactly my concern (clutter at the top). Stickies are bad enough, too.

The mods can deal with those as they see fit, obviously.

Hmm. I wonder...can you make it a sub-forum itself? By which I mean, each news/blog entry posts into that sub-forum as a new thread, which can be browsed, replied to, etc. I think that would be quite neat. It wouldn't clutter this main forum, but it would make a "constant activity" sub-forum which would both be a source of news and a place for discussion (via thoughts on the news).

Big topics, of course, would end up getting a thread here in the main forum, but all the little ones could just be discussed (or merely read) in that sub-forum.

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

It's possible, but has ramifications for the Drupal part of the site.

We have the option to turn all Drupal posts and the comment threads into vB3 threads and post them into forums or subforums. The problem is that it makes the interface there much more complicated (have to choose which subforum every time you post there), and the Drupal commenting system has to be turned off.

There's also the issue that we're slurping all this content from these awesome sites, and the implied contract is we let people click on their links after reading part of their story and comment over there.

We've also had a SportsTicker news feed and tried posting that to forums, and people hated it. In practice...

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

*nod* If it doesn't work well in practice, or the consequences are a problem, then no problem. Just threw it out as an idea.

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

It is a good idea.

I could import the posts into a Blazers group in Drupal, too. If people aren't averse to leaving the forum to post in that group, it would work out pretty good.

We are averse to leaving the forum!

Blazer blogs around the net

As my excitement about the upcoming season builds I sometimes find myself searching out other tidbits of information about my favorite team. When I look past the newspapers I see that I am finding more and more people blogging about the Blazers than ever.

Here are some of the best.

Feel free to add any you like to the list

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

^^^ We changed the home page software, so that page is no longer there... MikeDC has been working on a new page for the Blazers, which you guys are asking for him to make it better...

Re: Best Blazer Blogs

Just in case anyone missed it, the Blazers landing page which is now linked at the top in place of the defunct RSS thing has a blogroll I've incorporated this stuff on. In keeping with the suggestions in this thread, we aren't making it the home page for RipCityTwo.com or anything, but it's there and available for anyone who wants to use it, and if you ever want a single page to link back to us from other sites, it might be the way to go for that too. :)

Re: Best Bruised Blazer Blogs

I'm not much of a fan of blogs myself.
