Why will it be a bigger story? This will be a bigger story, as time goes on, so it deserves it’s own thread
shes a woman, isnt sheWhy will it be a bigger story?
That's barely news worthy, IMO. Unless there is some kind of scandal...shes a woman, isnt she
do you remember the outcry cause we didnt hire becky hammon, no we fired a woman
If you know that it's going to be a bigger story then presumably you know more than the nothing you claim to know and hear.

If this is true (it may very well be), why would the Blazers come out with a statement saying they're going in a "different direction?" All they would've had to say was something along the lines of "Coach Curry is pursuing other coaching opportunities." So if that was the reason, they needlessly stepped in it yet again instead of propping up the facts you mentioned that this likely would've led to a better coaching opportunity for her. Many have weighed in on this topic in the around the NBA thread...mods might move that dialogue here if we're having a new thread. Coach Curry I'm sure wants a head coaching job on some level and probably a pay raise to go along with it...maybe not in the NBA but somewhere....I wish her well. I'm not sure she didn't request to be let go to pursue the job she really wants. If we're going to actually show equality in sports...her gender shouldn't be an issue but her circumstances may have led to her wanting to move on with her career. This front office from what I've seen does not treat people badly. I don't think this is cause for bashing the front office ..we don't know why she left but she coached in the combine and seems to be driven to be a head coach on some level....not an assistant. She just saw Dawn Staley cut down the nets on a championship too....I'm sure she'd like to do that one day. She could probably be a WNBA head coach tomorrow.
As far as I'm concerned it was mutual...the details however are not that she has been fired from what I've seen but that they've parted ways...maybe I'm wrong but she may have a job offer that pays more and who knows....maybe they didn't want to give her a raise to keep her around. We just don't know but that's not reason to stir bad blood about the front office. On the other hand maybe she did get fired for something I don't see in print. At any rate...assistant coaches move around all the time so I don't think gender is a factor, which several people have eluded to. I also don't think she was just hired over the Chauncey drama. Chauncey hired her. Not Joe. Maybe she wanted to coach the summer league team and didn't get the nod. A hundred things could've caused her to change her job that we are unaware of. I wish her well without any front office baggage to include in that. Her agent may have wanted to get her on with her career as a head coach. That's my guess. Scott Brooks is our lead assistant and maybe she feels she deserves that spot more than he does. I don't blame her if that's the case. Maybe they have interest in another assistant coach that they feel will help the team more as well..that's also a possibility. Hard to say but again...I wish coach Eddy well..If this is true (it may very well be), why would the Blazers come out with a statement saying they're going in a "different direction?" The way they worded it seems like they fired her. Unless she did something worthy of being fired that comes out later, this leads credence to the belief she was only hired to take some pressure off the Billups hire last year and then let go once that blew over.
That’s ridiculous. From your “vantage” like watching TV?Good. From my vantage she seemed like more of a cheerleader than a coach.

agree, the standard response form most corporations regardless, how they left is Pursuing other Interest. If this is true (it may very well be), why would the Blazers come out with a statement saying they're going in a "different direction?" People leave companies for various reasons all the time. This will be a bigger story, as time goes on, so it deserves it’s own thread
She's currently the head coach of the men's Virgin Island basketball team...she's in tournament competition now in Europe....this tells me she has head coaching aspirations. The Blazers also have interest in replacing her on the bench but haven't mentioned who yet. Coach Curry has coached overseas in a couple spots...Vietnam being one place. Now the Virgin Island team. She'll always have a coaching opportunity. She was named head coach of the Virgin Island team last month so she's commited to that team before the Blazers start training camp. I'd say she like it there. She also took the job before the Blazers announced they will replace her.

No way.
