It looks fine to me. Nothing crazy like an MKG.

I don't follow college much but it looks like Washington played zone a ton. Does that contribute to his defensive stats?
Sure it does, the guy has a 7' wing span. And you will see more zone in the pros much like the Raptors did against GS.

His free throw percentage is the key. That got WAY better.

Actually they got better, then worse, then better again.

Methinks his shot is just inconsistent, and he's never worked with a good shooting coach.....

I agree with this.
A swarming/switching defense that is now being employed in the NBA is really just a more complicated zone. I think this will continue.

There's upside to Thybulle. He's a guy who has the potential not just to be a plus defender. He has the potential to be an ELITE, shutdown defender.

But he scares me because Washington didn't play enough man-to-man. Those steals and blocks are coming on reading passing lanes and helping out. I want to know if he's going to be able to be in Klay Thompson's grill and driving him crazy just to get the ball and create a shot. I can't see that when he's always playing zone.

The other upside is he's athletic. He MIGHT have untapped offense in his game. I just don't know where it might be. If he's an elite defender who can give you 10 ppg, whoever gets him is getting a steal. If he's an elite defender who other teams don't have to guard, then it's meh.

Would've loved to see video of him D-ing up Kevin Porter Jr. one-on-one. That'd give you a great read on how good a defender he truly is, because Porter has an NBA offensive game.

WE DONT NEED ANOTHER PLAYER WHO CANT SHOT!!!!!

We all know how this ends in the Playoffs !!!

We really don’t need another 3&D without the 3 wing player

This is true but is this draft really about next year? All these guys are going to sit next year and work on their game. Don't they all have areas they need to improve on before they are ready for the playoffs? However to your point I am always leery of drafting athletic guys who need to improve their shooting, but it is better than drafting a shooter who will never EVER be athletic.

Lol look at Oklahoma how this works out when you have athletic guys who cant shoot. And of course a rookie can play in the Playoffs, there are hundred's of examples.

At 25 you either pick super young/high upside (Simons/Bazley) or you pick someone with a lower ceiling but an NBA ready asset that fits your team.

This is why Windler is on my personal short list. He is close to NBA ready and I believe his ceiling is under-estimated due to his small college/"where did he come from?" background.

So are you agreeing with me or disagreeing? I honestly can't tell.

As for hundreds of rookies playing in the playoffs....how far back are you going? I am talking about now with so many 1 and done's. And more specifically I am talking about late 1st round picks where we are currently drafting. More than likely we are talking about drafting for the future.

I'm not sure how many of those guys were capable of any significant playoff contributions in their first couple of seasons. Certainly some of the 3 & 4 year college players were

still, that 74 players out of a possible 410. Less than a 1 in 5 chance. Furthermore, it sure looks like a team has at least a good of a chance, and maybe better, of landing a good player in the second round instead of the last third of the 1st round

I love this, if true:

"Thybulle is in the same region and time zone, so no one should be more familiar with him than the Blazers. Thybulle skipped the combine, giving the impression that a team has a promise in place somewhere in the 20s to take him. There's speculation that team is the Blazers who had a similar player in Nicolas Batum a few years back." ---Nbadraft.net

FWIW -- Last year's 'Draft Buzz' from Nbadraft.net made a similar claim on the morning of the draft: the Blazers promised Swanigan.
So how come that same site has him going at #15?
