Old tweet:
I hope that's true because eliminating the Celtics at 22 from taking Bazley would ease my mind a little.

Sure it does, the guy has a 7' wing span. And you will see more zone in the pros much like the Raptors did against GS.It looks fine to me. Nothing crazy like an MKG.
I don't follow college much but it looks like Washington played zone a ton. Does that contribute to his defensive stats?
His stats are so weird. He somehow got worse as a shooter but better as a defender as the years went by???
His free throw percentage is the key. That got WAY better.
I agree with this.Sure it does, the guy has a 7' wing span. And you will see more zone in the pros much like the Raptors did against GS.
WE DONT NEED ANOTHER PLAYER WHO CANT SHOT!!!!!
We all know how this ends in the Playoffs !!!
Lol look at Oklahoma how this works out when you have athletic guys who cant shoot. And of course a rookie can play in the Playoffs, there are hundred's of examples. This is true but is this draft really about next year? All these guys are going to sit next year and work on their game. Don't they all have areas they need to improve on before they are ready for the playoffs? However to your point I am always leery of drafting athletic guys who need to improve their shooting, but it is better than drafting a shooter who will never EVER be athletic.
At 25 you either pick super young/high upside (Simons/Bazley) or you pick someone with a lower ceiling but an NBA ready asset that fits your team. This is true but is this draft really about next year? So are you agreeing with me or disagreeing? I honestly can't tell.
As for hundreds of rookies playing in the playoffs....how far back are you going? I am talking about now with so many 1 and done's. And more specifically I am talking about late 1st round picks where we are currently drafting. More than likely we are talking about drafting for the future.
So how come that same site has him going at #15?I love this, if true:
"Thybulle is in the same region and time zone, so no one should be more familiar with him than the Blazers. Thybulle skipped the combine, giving the impression that a team has a promise in place somewhere in the 20s to take him. There's speculation that team is the Blazers who had a similar player in Nicolas Batum a few years back." ---Nbadraft.net
FWIW -- Last year's 'Draft Buzz' from Nbadraft.net made a similar claim on the morning of the draft: the Blazers promised Swanigan.
