Blazers pursued sign and trade for Monroe?

Monroe in OKC would've been a problem. Perfect complement to KD and Westbrook.

If I were Detroit I would be all over a Steven Adams centered package.

I think I'd rather go after McGary/PJ3+Reggie Jackson if I were Detroit if Monroe was involved. Adams is good but the Pistons already have a future AS center.

OKC is so good because even with a sometimes very stagnant offense there D is great. Putting Monroe out there and forcing Ilbaka to play center, or even having monroe play center, would be a big problem for them on D for them. They'd be better on offense but i'm not sure by how much because of how high of a USG rate Westbrook and Durant have.

we offered Mathews but they wanted Batum and Olshey laughed himself to sleep.

Do you have a link for that? I don't recall an offer or counteroffer being publicly disclosed.

Monroe would have been insurance for is Aldridge skipped town.

I do not understand the fascination with Steven Adams. Other than his hard fouls, what does he actually provide? The guy's a bum.

It sounds like Monroe and his agent pursued a sign and trade here, not the other way around.

It was in a chris Haynes article ill see if I can look it up when I get home.

Blazers going after Monroe also tells me that they may not be that confident Aldridge will indeed resign with the team.
