Blazers Q&A with Hansborough

Portland's back-up power forward was soft/finesse. The Blazers as a team were one of the best rebounding teams in the game and had a strong interior defense. So I would dispute that it's a "truth" that the team is soft or finesse. Like most/all teams, it has a mixture of toughness and finesse.

I agree that we're fine at center, but beyond that, the team is soft at all other positions. We were manhandled in the Houston series, by Artest, Battier, Scola, Landry and Hayes. I love LaMarcus, but he is not a banger. He has improved his low post scoring a little, but he's still mostly a jump shooter and a below average rebounder for his size/position.

I suspect many of the young Blazers will gain toughness as they gain experience, but to speed things up, I'd love to see them get an infussion of toughness at the back-up 4 - either a cheap vet, or through the draft.
