Or so it says here:

• FOX Sports Ohio sources also seconded reports that the Cavs have made a couple of inquiries about Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge. The Blazers, however, have repeatedly turned the Cavs away. A Portland source said the team has no interest in Tristan Thompson, Dion Waiters or draft picks, and plans to keep Aldridge.

Smokescreen? Just trying to get the Cavs to sweeten the pot?

BNM

What pick would they be offering? #1 and Waiters for LA and #10?

I would hope that the Cavs would know better even than to offer that. I was thinking #1 and Waiters AND Thompson for LA.

If my last two high draft picks had been Thompson and Waiters, then I'd be desperately trying to offload the #1 too.

"Stop me before I screw up again!"

I believe that Neil Olshey has been told (or at least it has been strongly hinted to him) that his continued employment as our GM is tied to LaMarcus Aldridge. If LaMarcus leaves, Neil leaves too. So of course he's immediately dismissing all offers.

...and why do you have this belief?

It could be a good move though. We draft Noel, get our defensive center, keep Hickson as our starting PF for 6-7 mil, and we'd still have money to go after a free agent.

Lillard/Maynor
Matthews/Waiters
Batum/Claver
Hickson/Landry
Noel/Leonard

That would be a strong 2nd unit!

Wouldn't trade Aldridge for the entire Cavs team.

If they were offering everything mentioned i'd do it, but based on the wording that doesn't seem to be the case.

Finally something we can agree on. Irving is a great talent, but he can't stay healthy. Everybody else on that team will never be an All-Star.

If the Blazers traded Aldridge for the #1 pick I sure as hell how Paul learned his lesson. I would hope to shout they take Ben mclemore. Nerlens Noel is another injury waiting to happen.

If that is the case, I hope Paul Allen sells the team ASAP, and Neil isn't dumb enough to hitch his wagon to a single player staying or leaving.

Drafting Greg Oden over Kevin Durant could have been a good move but it wasn't.

I've seen many ACL injuries but I've never seen one quite like Noel's.

His entire knee buckled on a landing. At his height it's something that I think is too big of a risk.

Fuck. Take that down.

Legs dont bend that way.

Doesn't compare to Kevin Ware's, though.

Looks almost as bad as Shawn Livingston's injury . . . who was never close to the same player after his injury.

As far as Olshey's comment . . . atta boy Olshey. Blazers aren't looking to rebuild!

The Cavs have the No. 1 pick in the 2013 draft to dangle in front of teams. However, one source said, they might be finding out there isn't as much value in that pick as they had hoped. In most years, teams wouldn't consider trading that pick. This isn't most years. The 2013 draft has the reputation of being short on star talent. News-Herald

The actual injury didn't look nearly as bad as that picture makes it look. I can bend my leg close to that position just by rotating the hip. You can't really tell how he's positioned with the baggy shorts and calf sleeves.

Good shit. Poor Cavs. That #1 isn't close to being worth the same as it would be in any other year.

Yes! Let's build a strong bench at the cost of a weaker starting lineup. lol

are you aware he weighed in at just over 200 pounds at the pre-draft? He's basically got LA's frame minus 40-50 lbs. & of course with that busted wheel. Even if his rehab is going well, its going to be years before he's beefed up enough to defend NBA Centers. With the depth chart you listed, next season would really really suck... like 20 Wins bad... but another dip into the 2014 lotto might set this team up for contending down the road. A whole lot of variables would have to go right though

People are strange man. They would rather downgrade a superstar for a player that had a serious injury and less than 50lbs. on Aldridge.

The scenarios I see are ridiculous. Any trade involving Aldridge better net us two up and coming all star potential or a allstar. It's that simple.

Even then, losing out only low post scorer will kill any diversity for Lillard to do his magic. Remember what happened to Rose in the playoffs? Teams bunkered in the paint and ran double and triple teams on rose. Basically took the entire team out of the game.

We need a low post scorer and Aldridge is one of the best at it right now.

Noel was playing at a higher weight than Davis was last year. He dropped weight for recovery from his surgery. (The Anti-Oden plan)

Just to gauge where I'm at here, which of you would not trade LMA straight up for Davis, if that was somehow possible?

Edit: I'm not saying that Noel is Davis or anything else. Simple question. If you were GM and NOP called you and said "Davis for LMA". That's all.

Don't forget that our pick is likely going to Charlotte next year.

What relevance, though, is Davis to Cleveland trading their pick?
