Social Media is so full of low life's being able to spew their toxic garbage.
Powell pretty much carried the team on his back in the lone win in that Nuggets series.
He was super impactful in the Raptors run to the title
Sure. He is on a reasonable contract; you can trade him for draft picks.Do you sign him for 5 years when the plan is so clearly to reset after the season?
The Blazers won 2 games, and no one was at Dame's level. But he was great in that 1 game.Eh. I think that's overstating it a bit.
8th in minutes / -8.2 on-off, didn't play much in the finals
Defensively is where I want to see the biggest improvement. He's a flashes guy right now with good tools on the ball and chasing shooters.
Still lacks the size to be super versatile though and his focus and discipline are very inconsistent.
It's why every advanced stat with a +/- component has had him as a negative defender for the majority of his career:
*Rough averages on LEBRON and RAPTOR
- 5-year RAPM (luck-adjusted): -0.88
- 5-year RAPTOR: -0.60
- 5-year LEBRON: -0.82
Sorry JDC, it wasn't to your post. It was to Jag'sThe Blazers won 2 games, and no one was at Dame's level. But he was great in that 1 game.
A reminder: we already had Norm when we got spanked by a Nuggets team missing their second-best player. In the first round.Powell chose Portland! Tells us a few things:
1. Dame trade chatter is now over. Dead.
2. Good chance CJ is moved
3. Gave up on Zach! Finally! A forward coming our way via trade?? Or was Zeller the replacement?
this could really get exciting over the next 48 hours!!!
Neil did very well... it's not often you get to say that. Maybe Dame's press conference was the wake up call he needed and he'll turn himself into one of the best execs in the league. We'll have to wait and see.I’m cool with this. Keeps the team flexible. Open up for trades in the future and this time we didn’t loose em for nothing.
Well, GIDDY UP!this is such a good deal I can’t believe it. He’s movable too at this number. Depression to giddy in an hour.

I love option A, if we could pull that off I wouldn’t even be upset about my Nurkic jersey and I’d still wear it.Next -

theyre definitely one of the best starting five offensively, but defensively theyre not
Absolutely, but the Nurk contract was great, too. This might be the best contract Olshey has ever given out (outside of possibly Dame? which is no-brainer). I mean it outdid even what most forum members were hoping for in less per year.
You are right. That one is actually probably more of a steal. This one is more of a game changer if that makes sense.Absolutely, but the Nurk contract was great, too.
The fact is he will flourish next to Dame or CJ if he's able to play at the 2 but if we put him at the 3 we're wasting his defense.i wonder if we promised him a starting job.
would be interesting if we turn him into a super 6th man like jordan clarkson or the like. think he'd flourish in a role without CJ next to him.
Twitter is absolutely the worst.
Like Vinny Johnson playing behind Dumars and Thomas?i wonder if we promised him a starting job.

I certainly hope he's not our starting small forward. Being undersized at the 2, 3, and 4 just is not a good idea even in today's NBA.
Ideally we'll move CJ for real value, but failing that I hope we get a 3-and-D guy at the small forward and have Powell come off the bench or fill in when injuries strike our back court.
