$9 million for arguably the 9th player in the rotation next season. I'd put Oden, Camby, Aldridge, Roy, Batum, Miller, and Cunningham ahead of him (since the front-court is thin, and I don't expect anything from Joel). Babbitt may even be more important because of his shooting.

Great job. Fuck, starter money for bench minutes. Wesley Matthews is the luckiest player in the NBA this summer.

Does your act ever get old?

How many posts does it take for you to tell us you don't like Matthews?

What do you disagree with in my post? Matthews will be the 4th highest paid player on the roster next season, and I feel he is arguably the 9th player in the rotation. His PER is shit, his shooting is average, and although people are telling me he plays great defense, his stats say otherwise.

As it stands right now, this addition puts us no closer to a title, IMO. What's wrong with this opinion? Does it scare you?

Cunningham? lolno/.

Yeah, I'm scared. You got me.

Why do you fucking care? Counter my post, or shut the fuck up, whoever you are. I didn't say I didn't like Matthews, anyhow. I think this is a misuse of the MLE. I guess we'll find out next season, but Matthews had better be very good next year to prove he is worth the money.

Oh. You don't like the Matthews signing?

As for who I am? PapaG, remember when you use to send me all those paranoid PM's?

Ermm, no, but he isn't better. I will take Matthews defense and 3 point shooting over a tweener who is to slow to play the 3, but to small to play the 4. Bayless must also be better then as well because surely, Bayless is better than Cunningham.

Dude, it's sports. Almost nobody is worth the money. If you like a player, you pay whatever it takes to get them here. Is he going to be 8th or 9th best player on the team? Who the fuck knows!

What the fuck are you talking about? Who are you, and why are you derailing this thread with your insipid bullshit?

Again with the "defense" meme.

Matthews' Drtg was 108 in the regular season, and 115 in the playoffs.

Cunningham's Drtg was 104 in the regular season, and 105 in the playoffs.

Plus, I find your "tweener" argument hilarious, since Matthews is a 6'5" tweener at SF.

Tell me again about his great defense though. I've put up stat after stat, and oddly, no one tries to counter them other than making ad hominem arguments toward me, and not my posts.

Why is that? :ghoti:

That I agree with. Thanks for proving my point. It's just sports, and I don't like the money spent on this mediocre player. I don't understand why this opinion elicits since strong reactions from the Kool-Aid Crowd.

Lets see Cunningham guard Melo and Kobe then. I mean, he is so great at defense he should be able to and people sometimes put him as a SF when listing the roster and its depth.

Oh and once again, Bayless is better than Cunningham.

I miss Mixum. At least his trolling and flame baiting was semi insightful and entertaining.

In other words, you have nothing to counter my post, because the stats show Matthews is a below average NBA SG/SF. I get it.

. . . and when he's a legit 6th man of the year candidate. You'll have plenty of crow to eat.

I saw Matthews try to guard Kobe in the playoffs. It was Kobe's second public rape in a mountain state.

Also, I never said Cunningham would play SF. I put him on the front-line as a SF/PF tweener.

If he gets to the that point, I'll start a thread encouraging my own public flogging. Hell, I hope that happens, and I get to start that thread! :)

However, if he is overmatched, will those embracing this signing still be so positive, though? Or is that when the "Nate", "system", and "Roy" excuses start, and nothing is Wesley's fault?

$9 million for arguably the 9th player in the rotation next season.

PapaG,

Are you going to keep trolling with the "$9 million" thing instead of just admitting WM got the MLE? The fact that his deal is front-loaded is a good thing, yet you continue to harp on the "$9 million" shtick.

I'm an anonymous internet poster, just like you. I've been posting on these board since around 04'. I'm not derailing any thread. We understand that you don't like Matthews, you've stated that about 50 times in two days. I'd say thats derailing a thread. He's young, has proven he can defend the best wings in the league, understands his role (believe it or not thats important in the NBA), he can hit the corner 3 (which is something we lack) and we have a rich owner.

Was it a rape? I never saw the games since I was in Autralia at the time, however, I asked Jazz fans about his pla and unless they were being completley dishonest (doubt it), they said while Kobe still got his as expected, Matthews made life tough for Kobe. Sure it was rape. Then again, Kobe rapes anyone who is defending him.

With that said, I am going to cheer the kid on. I love the idea of two good perimeter defenders on this team.

Are you ever going to stop trolling? That seems to be your M. O. Regardless of the actual contract, Matthews is being paid $9 million next season, and likely will be a cap hit.

Do facts like these upset you?

Kobe averaged what he's averaged against virtually everybody in the league against Matthews the rookie. The fact that Sloan threw him out there with the wolves shows a lot more than how he faired. I also thought he did a respectable job against Carmelo the series prior.

I posted the stats from the series. Kobe got what he wanted, when he wanted, and had a Game Score of 20+ in every game. Matthews had one game with a double-digit Game Score. If Matthews' task was to slow Bryant, he failed miserably, since his team got swept and it was by far Bryant's best series of this year's playoffs.

You mean the false "facts" that don't even make sense, that you are pulling out of your ass?

A front loaded deal is good for the Blazers. WM got a MLE deal. You continuing to beat the "$9 million" drum shows that either you don't know what you are talking about, or you're just trolling. (my guess is both)

Weird. For some reason that doesn't surprise me.
