Dame + Neil + PA + Terry to LA to meet with Chandy tonight. Dame gets back tmrw
CJ (seen recently in Virginia at Ed's camp) + Neil + PA + Terry to meet with Hassan in NYC after a redeye.

Just speculation. Man this is fun :)

Sign Parsons. On the plane ride to New York, Chandler makes a call to set up the Whiteside meeting in the Chandler Parsons Orgy Suite.

Why do people say negative stereotypical racist things about white NBA players in general? Saying the white guys are good looking is a backhanded way of saying they aren't good, because they are white and good looking.
Support for your theory: nobody EVER called Bird good-looking.

Dudes. If we renounce Meyers and Hark, we could open up about 40 mil of space. Then still go over the cap match nay offer AC gets. That leaves enough room for Parsons AND Whiteside as long as Parsons takes about 2-3 mil less than max.
I would absolutely and definitely prefer Harkless to Parsons. Without a second thought.

Someone explain how this would work with the salary cap?

I think this is another sign that we're going after Howard.
Looks like Parson max will be same as Whiteside's, about 22 million, so by renouncing all the free agents except Crabbe and trading Davis you can clear 44.6 million. You can still keep the three guys on the end of the roster also. Or could keep Davis and instead get rid of Vonleh, Alexander, Connaughton and Montero. That would clear 41.7 million. If you wanted to get a bigger max player like Horford to go with either Whiteside or Parsons, you could just go with alternative one and also get rid of the three end of roster guys, and clear 45.6, maybe you talk each into taking a slight pay cut on thelast two alternatives.

I didn't even much like Parsons when he was healthy, but this is ridiculous.

So let's get this straight: we trade Batum a year ahead of a rebuild where he would've been basically a perfect complement because... he would've demanded the max? Then we offer the max to an inferior version of him who's always injured?

Maybe the online calculator I am using is wrong; I see I am getting something different than 48n2bounce, although I am not sure if he accounts for the almost 2 million for Anderson Varajao?

Batums max is larger. And dealing batum was needed to have any chance of resigning aldridge.

Batum is substantially happier now that hes gone from portland. So wouldnt surprise me if he would have left anyways

He's happier because of his expanded role. Guess what would have happened if he'd've stayed with an Aldrige-less Portland?

We haven't offered anything. Why don't you wait until free agency actually starts before you go into full meltdown again (like you did last year).

Nic is not better than Parson, even the Dallas Blog admits that Batum would be a wash....at best. Injuries for both are a concern.

Someone explain, in words that HCP could understand, how the Blazers could possibly sign both Parsons and Whiteside?

Maybe we are out of the race of Whiteside race and Olshey is going for perhaps his next target? Im still staying optimistic and I don't know the actual answer to the original question, but maybe the parsons rumor is because Whiteside is no longer a go.

Here's how i understand it.

We have about 24 mil in capspace after letting go of Kaman, Gerald, Montero, and Brian Roberts.

We have offered Qualifying offers to Moe, AC, and Meyers allowing us to match any offer they receive and making them restricted free agents. But that also leaves capholds for those guys. Moe and Meyers have capholds of about 7.5 mil each, while AC's is minimal.

Those qualifying offers can also be rescinded at any time removing the capholds, opening up 15 more mil of capspace if we let Meyers and Moe become unrestricted free agents and losing the right ot match any offer they get.

We then have about 39 mil of capspace to spread between Whiteside (22 mil max) and Parsons (17 mil).

We can make this even more likely if we find a taker for Plums and Davis without taking salary in return.
