Blazers to meet with Chandler Parsons

Funny how you had to include Nic's worst season to make your point. How about we just compare last season, and we include stats that measure defense?
Heres a stat for you

2015-16 season

Parsons PER 16.2
Batum PER 15.6

Is it really worth gutting the roster to sign a couple of guys who likely don't make us contenders? I mean, we were solid because of depth. Losing that and chemistry may not be ideal. Neither Parsons nor Whiteside made their teams contenders.

$24M can be had without gutting the team. Sign one guy and use the rest, if any, to add even more depth. Or sign two guys for the $24M, or three.

It wouldn't be a horrible thing to add Whiteside or Parsons while keeping Crabbe and Leonard and Mo and the rest.

Maybe Olshey knows that those guys are going to get silly contract offers and he's not planning on matching?

How the fuck is plan A a guy with microfracture and meniscus surgeries to his name in the last two years? Does anyone in the Blazer office know anything about our history? Seriously, WTF

If Durant was interested in us would we say no because of our history with foot surgeries? He had 3 of them in one year. I understand the concern, and I think the Blazers have to do their due diligence and look at it closely, but they just can't eliminate him because we have been jinxed in the past.

As for his 2015-2016 season.......I am ok with that Parson Chandler. Those two months before he got hurt were all star level.

He can match. Hopefully he uses the $24M right away. Then he can use exceptions to match the rest.

To me, the wildcard is Hendo. I would love to have him back, but we're not going to be able to offer much if we renounce his rights and have no cap space left. BAE or Room exception sized.

I can see doing a S&T, too.

If I had to choose between Parsons and Whiteside, I'd go with Parsons.

He's a quality 3rd option, and Plums' skills would be maximized in that lineup. We have depth to let him play reduced minutes to save his knees, or to cover the worst case.

Whiteside gets you defense and rebounding and inside scoring. His offensive rebounding is big for a jump shooting team. But rim protection doesn't mean squat if it's the splash bros shooting from 10 ft behind the 3pt line.

Parsons and Durrant in the same sentence? Really?

We would need an elite defensive pf in that lineup. Vonleh might be able to develop into that.

God, finally white people start getting a taste of what it's like to be someone of color.

I don't mind it too much.... I'm collecting the amount of subtley racist comments in a bingo card.

"He's deceptively fast."

"He makes up for his lack of athleticism with his attitude."

"Boy! What a gym rat."

If you win then you get a LaCrosse stick, a free copy of Rudy and When It Was a Game.

Baseball for three more months baby!

Parsons at PF with Aminu at SF?
Flexible lineups.

82games says 12.2 PER by opposing SFs. Awful at PF. His team won 42 games. I'm not sure he's a starting PF. For a few minutes here and there maybe.

It's all about the differential. PFs can't guard him.

So we're going after Parsons if we don't sign who we want..... right, right, right..... (looks around hurriedly). Whiteside's still in the plans right! (hurriedly eats dinner)

This deadline is so fake. Are we really to believe that these GMs haven't contacted representatives? How exactly are these "meetings" arranged?

So bogus.

At least the Chandy meeting isn't a complete farce being on the west coast. 9PM can constitute a dinner talk. But are there really team reps waiting til midnight outside a restaurant in NYC to meet with free agents?
