Hollis-Jefferson will wear No. 2 for the Trail Blazers.
And hopefully become our junkyard dog a la Wes.

I didn't get to watch the game tonight, but RHJ's boxscore looked pretty bad.
On a team without a true backup PG and a center who has been sitting out back-to-backs, was this the best possible signing?
His offensive game is non-existent. He makes DJJ look like Pete Maravich.
Yet somehow managed to score more points than Jones has in his last two games combined. Actually in his past 8 games, Jones has only scored more than 7 points once.
I don't know how. Jones' shot looks better to me. His handle looks better to me. His hops obviously are immensely superior. And that's not even saying the first two parts are great. But Jefferson just looks so awkward to me on offense.
Actually, you know what else Jefferson did more than DJJ? Play. He played more tonight than Jones has played since the Dallas game exactly a month ago. And he took as many shots in his second game as a Blazer as Jones has in a game in April.
It’s not like they were making more of an attempt to get RHJ shots than Jones. He worked for it. He had more boards than Jones has had in any game in the past month. I don’t agree with not playing Jones entirely, but a cut in minutes wasn’t necessarily undeserved.
This is true. Sample size is pretty small, though. I'm going to trust my eyes and experience until RHJ shows me something different. He was 1-for-5 from the field and he scored because the Hornets were fouling a lot. I just don't see the skills there that are going to make even a 7-point game in 21 minutes close to a regular occurrence from him.
he’s been a regular rotation player his entire career. He has nearly 300 games under his belt and his career numbers are superior to Jones.
Which career numbers are superior? FG%, both advanced and regular, favors Jones. Win shares favors Jones. 3-point FG% favors Jones. It's pretty much a mixed bag.

Like I said, I'll wait to anoint RHJ when he actually does something for more than one game that was a blowout most of the way. If you want to choose to do otherwise, that's OK, you do that. I've watched him on the court for the Blazers, and I just don't see offensive skill or potential. His stats don't disagree with that analysis either. If you want to keep arguing with me, that's fine, too, but it's wasting your time, because you aren't going to change my mind, only RHJ will change my mind.
Those are pretty much the only categories Jones is superior in. PER, Free throw rate, rebound, assist, and steal percentages along with BPM, RPM, and VORP favor RHJ. That doesn’t sound like a mixed bag to me, that sounds like one guy is better than the other at the majority of the things that happen on a basketball court.
The fact that DJJ vs RHJ starting can even be a serious debate shows the world of hurt our roster is in.

Nah. That's very much a mixed bag. Factor in the teams that each has been a part of and it becomes even more of a mixed bag. But, hey, you keep fighting the fight for your guy. Maybe by the end of the season he'll be vindicated. Maybe by the end of the season, this will look like you were stanning for a guy who was average and offered nothing offensively.
Maybe you can take your passive aggressiveness somewhere else. Maybe?
Nah, this is S2. Have you read the HCP/Orion/Sly thread? This is the place for it.
And if I was being passive-aggressive, you'd know it. I'd say I was being more snarky and overtly aggressive.
God bless
Happy for him. The guy does the dirty. Can guard multiple positions well and wants to be a Blazer. Something tells me that he doesn't suffer fools on or off the court. This team needs that.
If it was just accompanied by an announcement that they were releasing Melo, I'd feel great!
