I think it was one of the New York or NJ beat writers that had more details on the trade.

I would guess if we're getting CP3, we're losing Miller, Batum and likely Joel's contract.

With New Orleans losing CP3 and having already traded Collison, I wouldn't be surprised if the "boatload" was because we also had Bayless in there so New Orleans could have Devin Harris and Bayless at PG. Denver would likely have needed Batum and Favors to part with Melo. Blazers and NJ are fine getting Melo and CP3, so that's probably about how it would have gone down to have all sides happy and us to lose a "boatload" as stated in that NJ paper.

Ok so what 33rd degree Masonic ritual do I need to perform to make this trade happen?

Portland has tried to help the Nets acquire Carmelo Anthony. The Nets could use Derrick Favors’ help, too.

The Blazers tried to include New Orleans in a mega-deal that would have sent Chris Paul to Portland, Devin Harris, Kris Humphries and a host of Blazers to the Hornets, Favors to Denver and Anthony and Andre Miller to the Nets, league sources said.

The Portland-proposed deal would have been a great trade for the Nets and Blazers. But the talks didn’t really go anywhere.

New Orleans and Denver plan to keep their respective superstars, at least for the time being. There could come a time when the Hornets decide to move Paul, and most within the NBA think it’s only a matter of time before Denver deals Anthony.
