Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold - Per @NYPost_Berman, Blazers turn down Knicks offer of 2nd rounders/cash for Papanikolaou. Blazers want 1st rounder http://bit.ly/1ab2ORA

Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold - Per Berman's report, Blazers have had offers for Papanikolaou from team's picking in the 20s http://bit.ly/1ab2ORA

Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold - If POR does get a pick for Papanikolaou, Olshey will have gotten Eric Maynor and a pick for Ray Felton, who wasn't staying anyway

Casey Holdahl ‏@CHold - So basically, Ray Felton doing more for the Blazers as a Knick than he did as a Blazer. So maybe don't boo him next time.

I have little doubt he will be used in some sort of draft day deal.

I wonder if they liked Gobert? Would they move back into the draft to take a chance on him and his length?

Why would we want to trade this Papanikolaou kid? Seems like he's got potential to be good.

This needs to be merged with the other Papanikolaou thread. This info was already posted there.

No, that's for the other Papanikolaou. Europe is full of them.

I thought we were talking about this guy

Given he is a few years out, maybe the want Deng, who could probably contribute now. Or, Olshey is trying to stash value for the future in Gobert or Nog. Either way, a big that develops has a lot more value than a tall 3.

NY fans on Realgm are trying to pawn Chandler off on us too, has he regressed that much?

His injury history and contract... I'd give them freeland and our 10th and I'd be hesitant at doing that.

Chandler is only "great" if he's on a very good team where he can focus on defense and rebounding. His addition to a bad team won't make it a good team - just a mediocre team.

This makes the Knicks look really stupid. They trade us the rights to the guy, then try to work out a new deal to get him back?

What I want to know is, why doesn't Papanikolaou want to play for Portland?

I thought I had heard the opposite. The Blazers arent ready to bring him over yet.

The story in the link above states that Papanikolaou's agent has told Portland that his client wants his rights traded to someone else.

Papawhatverhisnameis must not realize that Portland has a Greek community and wonderful Greekfest every year.

EXACTLY! The best I can tell is that he wants to play next season but apparently we don't want to pay the buyout. But that's just shitty.

If I thought KP could have a Rudy rookie season, then I'd be even more upset at the idea of losing him.

I never had any hopes of Freeland/Koponen becoming NBA players, but the Greek intrigues me. Also, the fact that he's Greek and not Spanish (hello stereotypes!) makes me want to retain his rights.

Neil is starting to annoy me.

His shooting and IQ on both ends, why Claver over Kostas? FIBA/Euro fans would 'LMFAO' over this thought.

Because we're stuck with Claver because we gave him a contract? Because of the buyout? If this is true, it sounds more like pressure from the money people.
