Why not see what you have in him. He was able to be the primary option on offense. I'm guessing the coaches were seeing how far offensively he has improved.

I don't get the outrage. Nate probably wants to see how his 6-12 play and Matthews is almost certainly part of that 6-12, so why not throw your new toy out there in competitive situations as much as possible and see how it goes.
