Tonight was the perfect game for us whether you guys like it or not. Roy is our first option. LMA is our second option. Outlaw comes off the bench as our 3rd scorer. Oden grabs rebounds and plays defense. Batum and Blake take open shots when presented. Rudy will provide additional scoring off the bench. Andre Miller is the new Sergio. That's our team, folks.

Actually, does Webster have any trade value at this point? :dunno:

Miller's focus was on shooting the ball. And Miller should be looking for Roy/LMA over Oden, as tonight proved.

I'm not sure that should be the case. These are wise old men here. They've been playing the game for a long time. Maybe we ought to trust their instincts.

Oh, you were serious.

He looks for him in the post. So does Juwan Howard. Why do you think Roy was frustrated ealrier on in the preseaon? Instead of looking for him, Millers focus was on Oden in the post.

Oden was 2 of 7 tonight. Why would Blake force it to Oden and when LMA and Roy have it going?

Miller's "instincts" have led to him shooting the ball a lot and assisting a little.

I trust Roy/LMA over Andre Miller. Sorry, but that's how I feel.

Andre Miller is the back-up PG. That makes him Sergio Rodriguez right now. I hope he runs the second unit better than he did tonight once the season starts, but I do think he will once Rudy is able to play.

I'm sensing there will be a faction in here this season whose agenda is more concerned with Oden's stats than they are with us winning.

I meant he's getting Sergio's minutes. He can do with that what he wishes. Blake is underrated in this league.

Blake may be underrated, but Andre Miller is actually one of the best PGs in the league, and that isn't arguable.

Agreed. If Miller is so great at alley-oops, he'll have great targets in Outlaw and Rudy.

If Oden starts to develop and edges closer to the player we all thought we were getting two years ago I would consider this season a win.

He's cared way more about shooting than he has about setting up his teammates. That isn't arguable.

Blake is highly overrated by Blazer fans. There's a reason Miller has been a top 8 PG in the league for 10 years and Blake has been a reserve on every team but ours. Again I like Blake but fans need to open their eyes the talent difference between Blake and Miller is obvious. By mid season there are going to be a lot of posters eating crow on this one.

You're judging this based on assists, which is not the best method determining how much Miller is setting up his teammates. People miss.

Eh, both are perimeter players, and Outlaw has never been known to attack the hoop very much.

"Attacking the hoop" and "finishing an alley-oop" are two different things. Attacking the hoop is when you have the ball and drive into the paint to score at the hole. Outlaw did that more last season than he had in preseasons. But as far as finishing alley-oops, he can do that as well as anyone in the league if they're thrown for him:

Miller was fine tonight, what the hell? Of our bench players he took the second most shots after Outlaw. I see no problem with this considering he was largely playing with the bench. He, or maybe Rudy, is our best bench player and one of his strengths is scoring, whether he's posting up little PG's or driving or hitting the jumper. And as Roy said long ago, he's our best passer. He's going to be a focal point of the bench so just deal with it. Comparing him to Sergio only makes you look retarded.. er.

I think Miller is a better player than Blake, but I'm thinking Blake is a better fit for the starters, at least for now.

Blake completely outplayed Miller tonight. That isn't arguable.

All I said was that Andre Miller is playing Sergio's role this season. That's not retarded. That's the truth.

So you want one of the best PGs in the NBA limiting himself?

Tony Parker averages more shot attempts than Brandon Roy. Do you disagree with the way Parker plays?

Tony Parker doesn't play beside Brandon Roy.

Apples and Oranges.

Exactly.

If you have to choose making Roy happy or making Miller happy, you make ROY happy for Pete's Sake!!! Roy is the second best shooting guard in the entire Western Conference. He's being paid 80 million. He's a two time All Star. HE is the guy you build this team around. And you give him the PG that he plays the best with. Period. Think long term. In about 3 years, Roy will be winning MVP awards and Miller will be retired.

The argument has been PGs shouldn't shoot, but instead set up teammates to make it easier for them. Parker shoots.

Miller had the same FGA and assist numbers as Chauncey Billups last season, who some people believe is a top 5 PG. Miller is a shooter though.
