First game for Layman and even if its summer league these teams are going to be on a different level talent and athletism wise then almost anyone Layman played in college.

We are facing a situation where we either have to match a huge contract for one of our main bench players, OR we need to let him go.

Right now, some of the prime candidates to replace him in the rotation are looking like pure shit. If you look like pure shit in summer league, you're most likely not going to look great in NBA action.

Vonleh was started because of his D which wasn't horrible for about a 10 game stretch, his offensive game is just horrible though.
