They were sloppy in this game, no doubt. I don't think anyone ever said they weren't. I don't care about 1 game or 2 games, I just find it funny that if an outsider read 95% of the in game threads they would think this team was battling for the top pick. Funny stuff.

The team has beaten all comers. Again YES we get sloppy in our own zone sometimes. And YES we need to correct that. But we are a deep talented team with a great goalie. All we can ask for as we head into the playoffs.

With that said this is the NHL playoffs not the NBA playoffs, so we can lose in round 1 or round 2 or sure. That is why the SC is the toughest trophy to win. Just go out and play our game and let the chips fall where they may.

Klein back will be a big help. Move the puck quickly and make smart decisions and we'll be fine. ALL teams have some holes, the key is keeping mistakes to a minimum and go from there.

We've beaten all comers??? We have STRUGGLED AND LOST to TB and Boston, who I feel are the two teams we will have to go through in the East. Klein is a HUGE piece for us, which is why I asked when he's returning. He's a big piece of our PP, and it has struggled a TON with him gone. But you're cockiness about we've beaten all comers, when we clearly haven't and have struggled all year with Boston and TB is laughable. That's some pure blah blah blah bs from you.

I'd favor us against everyone else in the east, including Washington if we stay out of the box against Ovie. But I'm sorry, I can't sit here and say we've beaten all comers when there's two teams in the east in the playoffs that play a type of game that we struggle mightily against.

I happen to think we are going to play Boston in round 1. If not them I think Detroit. I say that because I expect the Pens to win at Ottawa tomorrow night. And I see Boston with a real tough schedule to end the season all on the road. And after seeing the Canes get beat by the Sabres, I think Detroit will get 99 points. The Pens will get 99 points. The Bruins will get 97 points...but if they can win at Wash or at TB they can get to 99 also and we'll play Detroit.

No, what I'm saying is those are two teams that we will struggle against. You want to think we're this amazing team with almost no flaws. Take off your homer glasses for just a few minutes against these aggressive forechecking teams and realize that, while we have a great team, those teams expose our biggest flaw...lack of size. We have great speed, and if we can stretch out opposing teams and counter their weak forechecking we will beat them 9 outta 10 times. But these big physical teams that know how to forecheck and force us to play a slower, more deliberate game can beat us because they neutralize our best asset..speed.

BTW...take a look at Yandle recently, he has been playing really well. Another point tonight, 9 points in his last 9 games. Up to a + 9 with the Rangers. Played nearly 26 minutes tonight. Finding his game. Keep shooting and the PP will get better also. Exciting stuff.

I was thinking towards the end of the 3rd tonight that it had been a while since the Rangers scored w/ the goalie pulled...what a great finish to the game for Stepan. You can book that today's postseason doom and gloom posters were saying this team sucked and would have trouble making the playoffs during preseason. Despite injuries to key players and the insertion of 3 inexperienced players into regular roster spots (4 when you count Cam) this Rangers team may post the highest point total in franchise history but still the doubting Thomases don't believe. I agree with your post Al, this has been a remarkable season of enjoyable hockey to watch.

The same idiots which raved about the team in 1992 which won the Presidents trophy watched the team get bitch slapped by the Penguins in the second round. The fact remains that this team doesn't matchup against bigger teams well. Especially those teams which are good on faceoffs. It remains to be seen what they do in the playoffs. The playoffs is another season. It's incredible how stupid some posters are here getting their peckers all excited over regular season results. Means NOTHING. Last year should have shown you that because neither the Kings or Rangers were expected to get to the finals. Regular season was very impressive. MEANS NOTHING. All it means is they get home ice advantage. That's it.
