The BMW Open is a tennis tournament held in Munich, Germany. Held since 1900, the tournament is played on outdoor clay courts and is a part of the ATP Tour schedule.

Youzhny, Berdych win Munich openers

Second-seeded 2009 runner-up Mikhail Youzhny and third-seeded defending champion Tomas Berdych were among Monday's first-round winners at the clay-court BMW Open, a French Open tune-up.

Youzhny got past France's Jeremy Chardy 6-1, 6-4, while Berdych continued his winning ways at this event with a 6-1, 6-1 pasting of German wild card Kevin Krawietz at MTTC Iphitos.

Top-seeded Cilic advances at BMW Open

Top-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia has beaten Michael Berrer of Germany 6-4, 6-2 to advance to the second round of the BMW Open.

Cilic is looking for his third title of the year. Fourth-seeded Philipp Kohlschreiber also advanced to the second round Wednesday by ousting German compatriot Daniel Brands 6-4, 6-4.

Philipp Petzschner of Germany upset defending champion Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 on Friday to reach the BMW Open semifinals.
 
Youzhny beats top-seeded Marin Cilic to win BMW Open for his 1st title of 2010

Mikhail Youzhny beat top-seeded Marin Cilic of Croatia 6-3, 4-6, 6-4 on Sunday to win the BMW Open for his first title of the year.
