This forum is totally Chalupa-ist... What did those poor chalupas ever do to you? It is lame when the loudest cheer of the game is for the chalupa...but I still appreciate having the coupons in my truck after a long night of enjoying adult beverages...

Chalupas are the devil.

You're right, it's not the fault of the chalupa that the Portland crowd drools, chants and claps for a piece of shit grease filled tortilla. It disgusts me. I can't help it. I swear there are a lot of fans that would rather have that chalupa than the win.
I think it's just symbolic, a milestone, like putting in the human cigar when the game is in hand. It's kind of related to those BS statistics, like "Team A wins 90% of the time when they score 100 points", yeah, duh, if you score a lot of points you usually win. 100 points almost always means a victory, and the chalupa is the cigar. I doubt most people actually turn in the coupons...or maybe they do...I don't. :dunno:

Anyway -- great win Blazers! I love the way everyone is on the Nico bandwagon at the moment. And he deserves it. I just hope they don't turn on him after he earns his big contract, LOL. That Rudy steal and length of the court pass to Nico for the score is the kind of thing I want to see...a lot.

But what the fuck, I don't care if you're a 17 year old rookie, everyone by now knows NEVER TRY TO SCORE IN THAT SITUATION. Not smart, which seemed to be the theme of the night.

Would have been a rather down and under move.

Actually, six.

Bayless, Aldridge, Webster, Cunningham, Batum, and Rudy.

I stand corrected. Good catch. Our guys did a good job of sharing the ball. 21 assists this game, while we only had 9 the previous game.

Nate's talking now praising his guys' efforts of getting the ball up the floor....running.

Go figure. ;)

You should complain that the Blazers put up a video on the jumbo tron encouraging the crowd to chant for Chalupas whenever they get within four points if it isn't a close game.

I hate that as well. But it's worse when it's a close game vs a good team and the video isn't running yet the mouth breathers are chanting anyway. That drives me nuts.

He also said, in regards to running - "I feel like we've been talking about this forever"

I found that interesting.

I missed big chunks of the game. Was there a particular reason Pendergraph got so little burn?

Go watch Food, Inc. and you'll never eat a Chalupa again. At least not one with meat in it.

Yeah. Mostly because he tends to foul rather than get stops. Plus when Charlotte went small, it made more sense to have Dante covering a guy like Wallace or Diaw, than it did to have Jeff who isn't as fundamentally sound on pick and rolls, nor as quick laterally.

Nice. That Rudy lob for the reverse reminded me of his Gasol to Rudy dunk attempt at last year's all star game. Maybe he should have used Blake.

And Rudy also could've used Webster in the dunk contest, so that he could putback-dunk Martell's bricks.

Rudy is so frustrating. Has bursts of brilliance and then periods of being completely invisible or simply missing a lot of shots.

Anyway...he's still an exciting talent to have on the team. I just hope he becomes more consistently exciting. ;)

Batum is just out of this world, for his age. Fantastic. And Bayless is making huge strides this year. Last year, he had a Telfair-esque 8.2 PER. This year, he's all the way up to a 16 PER. Remarkable.

Thanks for posting the highlights yuyuza1.

Can't always get to watch the games, so it's good to be able to see some actual footage and not just recaps.

Good work!
