"Bold" Predictions - 2016-17 NBA season edition

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

The Blazers will have a 10-game winning streak.
The Blazers will have a 3-game losing streak.
The boards will explode during both occasions.

What are your "bold" predictions?

That's not bold, that's predictable. lol

Mine:

CJ will regress this year ( I know, I hate typing it)

We will strike out in trying to package a deal for a superstar

We will again exceed expectations with our current rosters, winning 48 games and making it to the WFC where we are bounced by the Clips.
Clips go to the finals this year.

Man after reading this, I think I need as bit of my own scolding regarding being positive.

Meyers Leonard will be traded in February.

Festus Ezeli totals under 1000 minutes on the season.

48 wins will not exceed my expectations. I mean, isn't that only 1.5 games off from the Vegas line? That's well within the margin of error.

48 in its own isn't, but WCF combined makes it exceeding I would think? Who of the national media has us in the WFC? I don't consider the betting lines media, but then expectations don't specify its media driven as well.

We will be the 6th seed
Dame will make his 3rd all star team
We will have one of the best benches in the league
We will make a big mid season trade

I almost wish there is another thread for, who do you think we will package and for who? but probably too similiar of threads out there.

If there is a big trade, who do we trade and for whom?

You son of a bitch

I already posted some in the Meyers Leonard thread a week or two back, but here it goes

* Blazers win 56 games
* Meyers Leonard has his best year but doesn't win MIP
*Allen Crabbe wins MIP
* Noah Vonleh starts in a handful games, but shares the 4 spot with Aminu
* Connaughton, Garrett (who the Blazers will sign as the 15th spot) and Layman will see very little time
* The Blazers again will escape without any major injuries this season
*The Blazers will not make a Blockbuster trade at the deadline, if they make one at all, it will be to get below the cap. Though I don't think they will. Thus the cake will bake.
* The Blazers place 3rd in the west, 2 games behind the Clippers
* The Blazers make the Western Conference Finals where they will face the Spurs (Suprise, Suprise)
* Napier will take most of the back up minutes behind Dame, the rest will be CJs
*Turner will play at the 2 primarily with minutes also at the 3.
*Crabbe will take over the starting 3 after the all star game
*Dame will be selected to the all star team, CJ will not
* Ezeli will be played sparingly during the season, and will be a beomoth in the playoffs
* Blazers win the championship

I don't even want to say mine. It's negative and I'll hate myself for putting it in writing.

Not to nitpick, but unless you are saying that the Spurs are the 1 seed and the Warriors finish in-between Portland and San Antonio, this pair of predictions doesn't work.

That last one isn't bold. That's how a board functions.

Bold was in quotes for a reason, lol.

I changed the first one with the Clippers at 2, meaning the Spurs are at the 4 seed, and therefore we could possibly meet them in the wcfs, not likely but bold

Blazers make a big trade shipping out Crabbe or Turner along with some combination of Vonleh/plumlee/davis/aminu for not just an allstar caliber player but an all nba caliber player at the 4 or 5 position

Blazers win 50 games and make it to he WCF

Dame/CJ usg and ppg will go down while there percentages will significantly go up.

Blazers win 6 more games then the "everyone's preseason darling" Jazz.

So Crabbe, Vonleh, Plumlee and picks for Cousins and Temple? I'm on board.

I'll take it, same deal for Griffin and i'll take it as well.
Wait Griffins a FA after this season... fuck it i'll still take him.

Blazers win 61 games for the 3rd seed

Warriors 68, Clippers 64, Spurs are 4th with 58 wins because Kawhi can't do it alone and The Texas Turncoat isn't a leader.

Moe Harkless is the starting 3 position and will win MIP.

Allen Crabbe will finish 3rd in 6th man.

Terry Stotts WILL win Coach of the Year.

Neil Olshey WILL win Executive of the Year.

Damian will be on the All-star team and will finish 4th in MVP for the season voting.

CJ McCollum will be in the Skills Challenge and will win it.

Meyers Leonard will be in the 3 Point Contest and will win it.

Minnesota Timberwolves will win 52 games for the 7th seed this season and will take the Clippers to a game 7 in the first round but will lose.

Kris Dunn is Rookie of the Year.
