I'm still a Bell fan out of the 3....Brooks might end up being a Wes Mathews type....Dorsey, Crabbe lite...Bell has incredible defensive instincts...something we need in a rookie for a change...I think he's TRob with a high hoops IQ.

UNLV boosters said he had a great relationship with one of the assistant coaches. But there's talk that boosters are providing jobs to some family while he goes to school there. Yeah something doesn't smell quite right turning down Tom Izzo AND Dana Altman, but technically I don't think that is against NCAA rules. Who knows, maybe it's just hot air. But USC football turned Marlon Tuipulotu from UW by getting a close family member a good consruction job. I can't blame these kids. If you can guarantee your family a good paycheck while you are on a path to get to the pros.... that is hard to pass up. It's preying on a kid's weakness, but the NCAA is a mob of foul play as it is.

Bell was disruptive and has a high motor, his college play translated well. There's a lot of upside in taking him with one of the two later picks. I think he could beat out Vonleh in training camp if no vet PF is brought in.
 
Huge Bell fan but I'm doubtful he translates to the league. Just not physically imposing enough.

At what position? Center I assume.

Because I think he is fine at PF in the NBA, just a matter if he brings enough offensively to play that position.

I wouldn't draft him to find out before 26th at earliest though.

Size matters not (well, it does but it isn't everything); instincts for the ball, rebounding, defense, etc... those matter more. Carl Landry is the same basic size and shape, and plays PF just fine, and has for many years (including that 2009 series against us where he abused the hell out of LMA).

I don't think Bell is necessarily undersized as an active '4' but even though size and motor might be similar to Green, Bell can't handle or shoot at a level anywhere near Green's. That makes a HUGE difference.

Rabb is a Zach Randolph type of rebounder right away so that is of interest. Brooks' wingspan make him a big 'No' for me. Thornwell is a Draft pick who could actually come in and contribute right away as compared with many of the other Draft pick options.

Brooks' wingspan is not as bad as has been advertised previously. He's been listed for a while as 6'7" with 6'4.5" wingspan--he's actually 6'5" (6'6" in shoes) with a 6'6" wingspan. Certainly not great, but not as T-Rexian as we've been led to believe. Basically, he's got average size for a SG, which is honestly where I think he should be projected.

A greater concern for me is his defensive aptitude and his overall athleticism. I just don't see him as an NBA athlete.

Rabb would be the least surprising pick to me considering our need for a PF and his relationship to Lillard.

Through the reeds, I hear Prichard's dad did the same thing. Prichard was supposed to go to Oklahoma.

Duke standout Luke Kennard measured 6'6.5 in shoes with a 6'5.25 wingspan at 196 pounds. Lacking length in a major way, Kennard nonetheless compares favorably on paper to J.J. Redick who measured 6'4.75 in shoes with a 6'3.25 wingspan at 190 pounds at the 2006 NBA Pre-Draft Camp. Surprisingly, Kennard didn't have the worst height to wingspan differential as Svi Mykhailiuk measured 6'6.5 barefoot with just a 6'5 wingspan. A guy with his defensive instincts is as rare as an NBA ready 7 ft player....I think with 3 first round picks we should value 1 defensive minded player...Bell coming off the bench for Vonleh would work for me...Nurk and Vonleh...Bell and Ed Davis off the bench...I'm banking on Ed coming back healed...his contract is bench friendly as is Aminu's
 
We need a needle moving SF starting....a Paul George type guy...Chief would be a better 6 man than Crabbe on both sides of the court at a fraction of the cost. If we can dump Crabbe and Leonard....keep Turner, Davis and Aminu...we'll upgrade the bench big time...just need a needle moving SF to counter the Lebrons of the league and contend

Leonard's the fat ginger kid with the runny nose and the Hello Kitty T-Shirt playing Dodgeball. Afraid we are stuck with him. Should be able to get something for Crabbe though. A shooter like that will always have some kind of value.

That'd be 3 of 4 big men that can't shoot well outside of 1 foot, and 3 of 4 big men that are well below average offensively. Can't say I want that.
 
Rudy gay ruptured his Achilles. I doubt he's turning down money.
 
Bleecher report mock draft has #15 T.J.Leaf Forward UCLA #20 O.J Anunoby Forward Indiana and #26 Ike Anigboyu Center UCLA.
 
I doubt TJ Leaf goes that high. Most of the mock drafts I have seen had him in 20s. On the other hand I can also not see Anunoby lasting until no. 20, or Ike until 26.
