This isn't the first time we've seen this kind of situation in the NBA (Joe Johnson, Eric Gordon, etc.) but have you see any agent this 'green' before?

His client list consists of five players, Batum being the most notable one.

The quote that sticks out, and should make Batum a little nervious, is:

"We hope Paul Allen doesn't step in front of Nic's dream"

He's handled this whole situation very poorly and whatever leverage they had, which was none, is even less today.

Jason Quick 'quickly' called him out when they were in Portland. Basically with all his tactics, he was the definition of, and I quote, "desperate."

Cut Mamadou some slack! It's not his fault his NBA career tanked :devilwink:

Olshey, having formerly been an agent himself, doesn't seem especially fazed by his antics. It's pretty good entertainment though, if you can divorce yourself from caring about what happens one way or another.

I remember Mike Conley, Sr. trying to manipulate the Oden/Conley draft. :dunno:

Nobody's getting in the way of Nic's dream, simply waking him up to reality. Bouna and co have irresponsibly put Nic's head in the clouds.

what happened today? they traded for kyle korver?

nothing yet. It seems like they're trying to line up something to give us to make us S&T Nic, but not give us what Olshey's demanding.

So I wonder while Nic was growing up in the French countryside, did he have posters of beautiful Minnesota on his walls?

Exactly, and I have. If Nic comes back, great. If we deal Nic for assets, great

Actually I think Ndiaye has played it perfectly for his client. This thread proves it, he is taking all the heat. Batum wants to play in Minnesota for whatever reasons.... Ndiaye is trying to make that happen and is being the bad guy in this whole ordeal. He knows there is a good chance that Batum ends up back in Portland for $11 million per year... if that happens you don't want fans pissed off at the player.

If Batum ends up leaving I say we all send his agent some mosquito repellant.

Here's the thing you Minny fans seems to be missing Nic wants $$$>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Minny. If we match and he gets his money, then three months from now with a new coach this will all be forgotten by most blazer fans. If he TRULY wanted to play in Minny, he'd sign the QO and be an UFA in a year.

I don't think the QO route would work unless Minny had cap room. I don't see Minny wasting a year, just like NJ wouldn't for D Ho

Actually I think PwnedbyKahn has it right. Nic has hardly received any heat at all (aside from some twitter douchebags harrassing he and his girlfriend). If Nic returns to Portland most of this will be long forgotten by the time training camp rolls around.

Couldn't the two teams just do a S&T next off season then though? At that point Batum/Minny would have the leverage or at least be on even footing with the blazers.

Did you not read the second sentence of my post? If we match you're right the agent takes the heat and most blazer fans forget, but Batum was going to get paid regardless of what happened this offseason, I just don't think his agent handled it all that well in the grand scheme of things.

Note to Bouna Ndiaye. Millionaires never win negotiations with billionaires.

Honestly no, I was skimming (pre coffee).

Hmm, guess that would probably work.

They'll be looking for a SG too after Roy re-retires. Their time is now I think.

This whole fiasco reminded me of a certain scene...

In the real world GM's and Agents play poker.

This is how Kahn and Ndiaye prepared:

[video=youtube;rbu0PVOUT3o]

I could've sworn you were going with this one:
[video=youtube;m6ux3-Z03B4]

Kahn: "All red....yeah!"
Olshey: "I'm not sure what four nines does, but the ace, I think, is pretty high"

as a non poker player, I have no idea what that scene meant.

It seems the Minny fans are finally realizing the 7-day waiting period for players to clear waivers, and are pointing the finger at Ndiaye for causing this whole stir...

EDIT - even though it appears Kahn was the one unfamiliar with CBA protocol. Maybe he should hire Tom Penn to educate him. Would make sense...

What was this guy's game plan again? Sign the first possible minute?

"Portland had their chance. We are not waiting just to help them out"

And he is still waiting................

He did everything in his power to burn the bridge.

He did this without leverage.

In other words, he's a blithering idiot and this whole fiasco is proof.

Wait, so there is a 7 day waiting period
