So I'm curious on this upcoming road trip, there are 2 sets of back to backs. Do you want Brandon playing in the Orlando game or Miami? I think it's obvious we need him in ATL more then Charlotte. Just thought do we bring it against the Magic and hope for the best against the Heat?

Hopefully Rudy is on the upswing from the flu. Portland has missed his outside threat

I think MM has a point. We've been playing better without him to be honest.

The Denver game aside, I'm not so sure trying to shoehorn Brandon into the lineup is such a good thing. I don't even know that it's his fault (beyond his diminished abilities) but with the way people play off of him and stop moving around and the offense is suddenly a disjointed sequence of one-on-one moves from almost anybody who handles the ball ... well, I think it might be time to shut him down for the remainder of the season.

Brandon isn't the one playing horrible D while letting guys like Marcus Thornton, Kyle Lowry, Demarcus Cousins look like All-NBA players.

You're right. The trouble is, the offense suffers when he's in there too.

So rather than trying to integrate him into the lineup and using his strengths to better the team, you want us to just push him to the curb?

Considering how few shooters and playmakers we have, I don't think that's the right thing to do.

It depends. Sit him for whichever of the two games you really want to win. (/chanelling mediocre man).

Just kidding. It's just a joke! :)

Seriously, though, I still think Brandon will help the team if he can learn to fit in. Most likely, as with most players of his caliber, from the day he started playing basketball, whatever team he was on had to adjust to him. It has certainly been true since he's been on the Blazers. I doubt Brandon has ever had to adjust his game to the team in any real way. That's a serious new trick to learn, especially while he's also learning to play with diminished physical ability. I wish him the best. Likewise, his teammates have to understand he cannot carry them. They have to treat him like any other backup SG with lousy defense, and hold him accountable to fitting in with them.

Just my 2 pesos.

Personally, I think that 1 day off between games isn't really enough for him. I'd treat him almost like a starting pitcher--5 days between starts, with light bullpen duty on the third "rest" day.

I think trying to come to a conclusion about what Brandon will or won't be able to do based on a sample size of 3 games is incredibly stupid. He needs some PT in order to shake off the rust and, as I posted yesterday, the goofy way they're limiting his minutes is, IMO, doomed to failure. He has never been a guy who gets it going quickly, so playing him in 5-10 minute bursts just plain won't work. I think they'll eventually loosen the restrictions on his PT a bit, but until then I'd only play him in the second half and I'd typically save him for the second game of back-to-backs. On the upcoming trip, I'd play him in Miami and Atlanta.

I disagree. In the Laker game the offense did not suffer when he was in there. Same with the Denver game. In the Atlanta game ....as soon as LMA went out with his injury ATL went on a 15-0 run. From that point on (Including the Houston game) they all were out of sinc on offense and Defense. How many times did our 2nd team lose big leads before brandon came back? I can count quite a few.

There is nothing but upside having him in there with the second unit. Because they rarely played well before he came back. He can only help

That's too simple to blame the play against Houston and Atlanta on Roy - the offense in both games was out of sync before Roy even stepped on the court. LA had 2 points in the first quarter against Houston - and Roy had yet to play.

Yes but he was before when he was making whoever he was guarding from the Rockets look like an all star for one play.

We're a better team having the option of playing Roy than not having the option. We're not only re-integrating him, we're re-integrating Camby and also trying to find a place for Wallace.

I play him against MIA and ATL.

I say Orlando and ATL. You can't blame Brandon for our slide recently. We didn't win last night because he DIDN'T play.

I said it earlier this season. The worst thing for this team, was if Brandon was going into and out of the lineup over and over. I still believe that. He should be either in or out. If they don't believe in his knee enough to play him every game, they shouldn't even play him one game.

I would say Orlando and Charlotte. I would go all out for Charlotte as it may be the only win we get on the trip.

That would be true if he was starting, but right now he is just another bench player who plays more against some teams than others. I would have hated him not playing in the Denver game.

Exactly, the shit he is taking from the fans is ridiculous. None of this is his fault, and his wheels came off sooner than anyone thought. He's a great player, by most accounts a great guy and has worked his ass off to become a better player than anyone ever thought he would be. He'll find a way to maximize his talents with his new limitations, and I'm proud he wears the Scarlet & Black.

But his knees aren't going to get better. This is his and our new reality. He's going to be in and out of the lineup for the rest of his career. We have to find a way to best utilize him within those constraints.

I think we beat ORL, ATL and CHA. Then again, I'm an optimist.

Have wanted that for 3 years. There's been a lot of talk about it from both sides and from Roy himself, but no progress.

At what point do fans/coaches realize "integration" is not going to magically happen.
