Brandon makes a good point on Rudy

Which is what should probably happen. I wouldn't go out of my way to gut the team, but I imagine a combo of Rudy, Outlaw and/or Bayless (and perhaps a pick) could get you a pretty decent prospect ... I don't really have a name in mind, but that's a lot of heat.

There's no point if you don't have anyone in mind.

The "tier" above the Conley's and Augustin's are guys like Devin Harris, Jameer Nelson, and Tony Parker. I'm pretty sure the teams those players play for wouldn't even consider the package you proposed.

I said I wouldn't mind seeing this trio getting a little run this season... I'm not saying this should be the starting lineup.

These three are probably 3 of their top 4 talents positions 1-3 with 32 year old Miller being the 4th. I think it would be smart to see if the youngins can play together.

I agree that those are three very talented players, but not at positions 1-3, by my count that's 3 very talented players at positions 2-3 -- Brandon and Rudy are still not very good defensive players in the best of circumstances (guarding their natural positions) when they are paired off against ones (or threes for that matter) generally, it makes it even harder.

In any case I sort of knew you were talking about situational lineups with these three and I agree that we'll probably see it from time to time ... I'm just not so sure it's something that will be effective as a regular lineup (ie occurring in more than 10% of all combinations).

I don't have anyone in mind because I'm running on minimal sleep the past couple of days and I'm frankly too punchy to think of anybody right now.

You're right however that Harris is too far off (along with Nelson and Parker), but perhaps you remove some players (Outlaw or Rudy) from the package and you go after a guy like Conley -- Memphis is clearly run by buffoons, so who knows?

I'm recalling Batum giving Tony Parker fits in a game last season. I've seen Brandon be affective on many All Star type 3's including Josh Howard, Carmelo, and Prince. It's pretty common for teams to go small for stretches where their starting 2 becomes their 3. I'm actually more concerned offensively then I am defensively with this hypothetical combo. If Nic could get a semblance of his idol's handle....

What young PG's out there are worth trading Rudy for?

I like Conley, Augustin, etc, but no way would I deal Rudy for them.

To get a tier above them KP will probably have to package Rudy with another asset.

I think we'd be better off trading Bayless/Blake/Outlaw for Conley/pick or something. Not sure it's possible and we give up a lot, but we need to consolidate at this point and that'd really tighten up the rotation nicely. Blake has experience with AI, Outlaw gives them leverage in the Gay talks, and Bayless still has potential (to replace Conley).

Miller/Conley
Roy/Fernandez
Webster/Batum/Cunningham
Aldridge/Howard/Cunningham
Pryzbilla/Oden

After this year, I like to envision Roy, Rudy, Webster, Batum and PGotF (whoever that ends up being) sharing the 144 PG-SF minutes, with Batum defending the point for significant stretches, and Roy defending the 3 when he and Rudy are in together.

I like to imagine Bayless being that fifth player, but I think it's more likely that if we ever find a really good fit for that spot, it ends up being someone not currently on our roster.

I would do this in a heartbeat, and then run away laughing before the Grizz had a chance to change their minds.

I doubt it. Sacramento already filled their stubble quota with Caspi...

Anyway, why would Rudy want to spend time with these dorks :devilwink:

Anyway, I hope we never have to trade Rudy. We went through so many Spanish players - it would be a shame to get rid of the only one that would amount to anything of them...

Where did they take that shot?? Chairs and cords in the back...:lol:
Team dinner at Subway? What is next in Sacramento?

Looks like the Sacramento office-depot has a passport camera service. That would explain the decor.
