OT: Brandon Roy looked, good among others on SC

Wonder how long it'll last.

Drummond looked promising

And Terrance Jones hit a big shot, happy for him

De Colo looks Manu-esque.

...is that an OVER/UNDER topic yet, how many games will Roy play in this year? 55.5 +/-

...Drummond reminds me of Bynum -- maybe someday they will figure it all out like Z-Bo eventually did :dunno:

...I've always thought T. Jones was the steal of the later 1st round picks!

...T. Rob looked like a beast as well for Sacto! I was really hoping for some ole KP draft day magic to move up and get both Lillard and Robinson -- but at least it appears as if Meyers has some promise :ghoti:

We'll probably need one thread for all Brandon Roy talk. We certainly dont need a new thread for every time he has a decent game this season.

Maybe that thread should be located in the T'Pup's forum? They could probably use the business.

Good idea! Brandon Roy Sticky

Yea what a deep draft man. Makes you wonder how we ended up with Luke Babbit and Nolan Smith, even in a shitty draft.

um, because T. Jones was this year's draft. :dunno: We ended up with Lillard and Leonard instead. And we have Smith because for some stupid reason we thought Felton and Nolan were better for us than Rudy, Faried and Miller.

Re: OT: Brandon Roy looked, good among others on SC

I noticed that Royce White was listed "NWT - coach's decision"

That's ominous. I get the impression that McHale thinks "anxiety disorder" is shorthand for "being a wuss".

Re: OT: Brandon Roy looked, good among others on SC

I read somewhere (ESPN?) that he was not with the team b/c he was staying in HOU to get into better shape.

Make it happen mods, because he'll be a Blazer forever, and threads will continue to pop up about him. Let's consolidate it in a sticky.

The health of his knees is obviously Roy's biggest potential obstacle to a successful comeback. But the second biggest potential obstacle will be his ability to channel and hone that enormously proud competitive fire.

Well Said, Brandon wasn't quite able to channel/hone it at the end of his career here. Some very telling quotes in that article.

The thread is now sticky stuck in the Timberwolves forum.

I've always liked the idea off having a stickied "former players thread." I am slightly interested in what Brandon does but it's not Blazer news.

Re: OT: Brandon Roy looked, good among others on SC

I would like to have a running thread about my boy B! He will always be Blazer related.

Propose it to the forum dictator, I mean moderator, maybe because of your rep power you won't get shot down.

Re: OT: Brandon Roy looked, good among others on SC

Valancunas wasn't nearly as fluid as I had imagined. He moves more Przybilla than he does Noah IMO.

You ladies have your B-Roy Sticky. But if I see any of you starting a new thread about Roy I'm banning you for a week.

Roy blames Portland fans -

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...brandon-roy-minnesota-timberwolves/index.html

Last week, I asked Roy if he could handle physical setbacks that may limit his ability to the level of his play in his final year in Portland and still remain a team player.

"I don't think it will come to that, but if it does, yes, I can live with that," he said. "I think that was harder to do in Portland. I got built up so high, that anything less than what I was doing, it felt like I was being put out on a string. If we'd lose and I didn't do something, then it was because of Brandon."

He mentioned his last great game, when he exploded for 18 points in the fourth quarter to beat Dallas in the 2011 playoffs.

"We were already down 20 when they put me back in the game," he said. "I missed my first shot as people were yelling, 'Get Roy out!' I took it to heart from the fans."

yeah, it was me negotiating the maximum-value, maximum-length deal after 4 knee surgeries. My bad, guys.

The unfortunate thing is that his "last great game" wasn't his "last game." Maybe he's forgotten about the 14pts total in Game 5 and 6, but I haven't.
