he would have been in the middle of his prime right now, and oden would have just been entering his

good times

Well, he had to know, and now he knows. He should have stayed retired, but he felt better with the time off and he thought he could make a comeback. He was wrong. Now he finally realizes what we all knew years ago. He's done.

he made 5 MILLION DOLLARS for 120 minutes of basketball, anyone wondering why, there you go

Eh, I don't think it was about the money at all. I think he would have come back for the vet minimum. I think he wanted to know if he could still play.

Looks like he won't retire, but will pursue an extensive rehab plan... from Blazers Edge:

Update: The Timberwolves released the following statement on behalf of Roy on Saturday evening.

"Last week while practicing, I suffered a setback in my recovery. I've felt better since the recent surgery, but I am not all the way better. The past two days I have been weighing all of my options as I try to continue my basketball career. I have decided to explore additional treatment options and an extensive rehabilitation plan. My goal has been, and continues to be, to return to the basketball court as healthy as possible in order to help our team. "

This is a man that is unwilling to accept reality. He couldn't even make it through the first 25% of games without needing surgery.

Re: Shit, now BRoy is seeking out to find other treatment so he can continue his care

They are going to merge this, as they should.

Re: Shit, now BRoy is seeking out to find other treatment so he can continue his care

This should be interesting. If Roy continues to rehab for the rest of the year, do the wolves pick up his option for next season, or do they pass and have more cap room to shop with and pay Pek.

Next year the Blazers could sign him again, I think. For the vet min, if the wolves cut him, it would be ok with me.

no chance in hell they pick up his option.

Re: Shit, now BRoy is seeking out to find other treatment so he can continue his care

Si he gets his next surgery soon, he should have 10 months to rehab correctly.

why would they pick up a 5 million dollar option when nobody else, after this season, would likely go higher then the minimum?

I doubt they will also, but I think ha could then sign with blazer at minimum

Re: Shit, now BRoy is seeking out to find other treatment so he can continue his care

BRoy should just try for asst. coach.

I don't think we can have him until 2014 due to that is when his contract would have expired that we amenstied but bigger question is why would we want him?

Both points here are correct. We cannot sign Roy until his original Blazers deal expires.

But we can clone him from the pieces of knee he left behind in Portland.

BRoy is seeking out a treatment overseas so he can continue his career overseas!

treatment overseas = career overseas

If Minny is able to get medical retirement of Roy, I hope he signs with another team for the length it takes to take away the cap credit. :D

Wow, $5 million for 5 games, 122 minutes, 29 points and a PER = 8.6.

How does Kahn still have a job? I'm surprised he hasn't tried to sue the Blazers because we didn't tell him Roy had bad knees. BTW, did anyone think Martell Webster looked like he had a bad back tonight?

BNM

Sad because Roy was my favorite Blazer and now he is a tumbleweed blowing in the wind. I wish it didn't end like this. It's actually upsetting.

...not looking good, should have stayed on the shelf.

Brandon Roy has another knee setback, still hopes to play this season

Ugh.

Brandon Roy’s attempted comeback from knee problems with the Minnesota Timberwolves lasted all of five games before he needed another knee surgery. Recovery from said surgery has not gone quickly or smoothly but the former All-Star guard isn’t ready to give up on his dream of returning to the NBA.
