I'm glad to see he finally became a DUCKS fan! Screw the Huskies.

Terrible news, in my opinion. Roy is rushing to get back on the court again, just like he did last year during the playoffs. Him coming back too early may have contributed to the knee problems he's had this year.Brandon says he wants to come off the bench when he returns. I'm getting excited over here guys. What great surprise news tonight.
How could that have caused his current knee problems? I am not saying you are wrong, I just honestly have no idea why the two would be related. He didn't suffer an injury in the playoffs after coming back, so I'm not sure how him coming back earlier than you think he should have would cause him to have pain/discomfort in his knees now. It sounds like it is a chronic condition that has no relationship to Roy playing in the playoffs.Terrible news, in my opinion. If you come back too early, you interrupt the healing process. How could that have caused his current knee problems? Wow. Bumm-er. I tore my Labrum in my shoulder in two places playing basketball back when Batum had the same injury. It seemed kind of ... ironic. I sure wish I'd had his level of rehab, personal trainers, and physical therapy though. And been 20 years younger, LOL. Hope it all goes well for you.I pulled a "Trail Blazer" last month. Blew my ACL and Lateral Meniscus (With bone bruise) snowboarding. Now surgery tomorrow. I feel like "MRIse with us" is a great slogan. I also feel the players pain, this shit sucks!
has no one else noticed that Roy's going to have 5 games before the trade deadline, last one being against the L*kers? Maybe that's why he's coming back quickly?
You think they are going to showcase BRoy to trade him?
He still may be able to play at a high level, but not for 35-40 minutes/game for 82 games. I'd like to give him a chance to accept the challenge of being a contributor, but not "the man." I also think that if he's 80% - 90%, he should start eventually...Even if Brandon wanted major minutes right away I don't think Nate would allow it...Remember that 80% of the guy you see below is still a good thing.

no way a team trades for his contract w/ his lack of meniscus...you dont pay that for "serviceable level." brandon is untradeable.
Of course give him a chance. I'm just predicting that Roy will play 3-4 games, then rest a week. Then play a couple games, then rest it. This will go on and on. He will not be 80% of a superstar. He has no knees. We'd be talking about his retirement if he hadn't just signed a max contract. Why talk how many minutes he "wants"? Do we care how many Mills or Camby or anyone else wants? If fans still consider him a prima donna, he will too. Forget about thinking that way. He'll exceed my expectations if he's another Rudy.
This is honestly the worst case scenario.
I think Roy gives it the old college try this season. If he can play relatively pain free, he keeps playing. If not, he's Jonathan Bender.
A very expensive and former 3-time All Star version of Jonathon Bender. I get what you are saying though, a guy with a career ending injury that won't retire. Bender played 5 (very incomplete) seasons with no knees. If Roy can't play anymore, it's hard to imagine him walking from any part of that $80+ million.
It's possible to trade a player but continue to pay for most of his contract.
Why they do it: We'd be thinking we're getting more pay reduction than the service he provides.
The other team would be thinking they are getting more service than the pay they take on. Also, season tickets sold because of his name might factor into their thinking, even if he winds up not playing.
Their doctor might give him a higher probability of success than ours.
As an aside, when the hell is Good Feet going to stop with these Roy commericals? Hint: Right now he may not be the best spokesperson for you.
