Could be that Brandon's the villain here, as most of you want to suggest. He may well be having ego issues due to being dealt a hand where he has All-Star talent but nursing home knees. He undoubtedly needs to adjust his game. On the other hand, it may also be true that what he's saying is correct. That having guys on the perimeter who can actually hit a shot and open things in the middle will allow him to still be effective at what he does. He showed in the Phoenix games -- one of those rare occasions where his teammates were actually able to hit the broad side of a barn -- that he can still beat his man in single coverage. The way things stand right now, he's never in single coverage because there's nobody to make the other team pay for doubling him.
Like it or not, we're stuck with Brandon for the foreseeable future because of his huge contract and declining health and output. He'll have to adjust in what he does, but the team also will have to be adjusted if we're to get the most out of Brandon. Vilifying him has become popular around here, which I really don't get other than he's an easy target, but let me ask you this: With all of the talk I've seen here about getting the point guard of the future, were you intent on finding another slow guy who can't shoot from the perimeter, like Miller? I don't think so. Roy's got a point. Andre is crafty and can still do some things, but he's not the guy that we need at that position.
