Zombie Brandon Rush, the forgotten Blazer

I think we should bring back Ha and trade for Yi. This will give us the dreaded Yi-Ha combo.

Even after his big game last night, Rush has a PER this season, after all of NINE games, of 14.0.

Bayless, last season, in 74 games, had a PER of 14.3 on a 50 win team. By comparison, the much older Rush, was a starter on a 50 LOSS team and posted a PER of 9.6 in over 30 MPG. That's just flat out awful and made him one oif the worst starters, at any position, in the entire league.

One good game does not a good player make.

We dont need him to be a starter. He shoots 40% from the three point line. That would be great of our bench. Look, if we got something for him, that's one thing. But we traded Jack (decent back up PG), Rush (elite three point shooter), and McRoberts (whatever) for a low first round draft pick. Disaster. All in all- we traded Deron Williams and Brandon Rush for Luke Babbitt and a 2011 draft pick. Ouch.

All that shows is that Rush is statistically improved this year. Didn't he suffer a knee injury or two late in college? Maybe he's just now getting back to the form that had him perceived as an early lottery talent initially.

What it shows is a SMALL sample size. Since he was suspended for 5 games, he's only played in 9 games and by your logic his 3-point shooting has regressed (0.364). He's not getting better, he's getting worse. Or, maybe we won't know for sure until he plays at this level for more than 9 games.

And the point is we got NOTHING for him.

You don't know that. We got Batum with a 25th pick. What if we get a player of Batum's quality with the NOH pick. Will that help you get over missing out on a guy with a career PER of 9.6?

Ironically, it was a pick we bought from NOH that enabled us to trade up a couple spots to land Batum. So, not all is lost. History may repeat itself. Who knows? One thing I do know; every draft as far back as I can remember, there are mulitiple players taken at 25, or below, who ended up better than Brandon Rush - many of the MUCH better.

So, until we use that pick, we have no idea if the player we get will be better, or worse than Brandon Rush.

Remember, though, we lost Jack too who, with Webster, we got for Deron Williams.

Yes, and don't forget Ricky Sanchez and Lina Kleiza. We gave them both up to move up and land Jack.

No, we traded our pick to Utah for the picks to land Jack and Webster.

Nope, you're wrong. We got the 6th and 27th picks from Utah. We used the 6th pick on Webster. Denver drafted Jack at 22 and traded him to us for Kleiza (at 27) and Sanchez (at 35).

Details here

BTW, look at the players taken after 25 in that draft. It helps prove my point that we could still end up getting a much better player (David Lee and Monta Ellis for starters, and about 10 other guys) than Brandon Rush with the pick from NOH.

Keep telling yourself that... :) 7-10 tonight, 2-3 on three's. Whether or not he'll ever be an impact player, he's playing well currently. But I know how this board likes to tear apart anyone we didn't hold onto to make themselves feel better about those we did... And people wonder why Toronto fans come in here riling you guys up all the time?

So is McBob. Don't forget about McBob.

It's kind of funny how earlier today you mentioned how the Bayless trade eventually led to Lillard but in this thread you claim we got NOTHING for trading Rush, Jack, and McRoberts. This is why I never like to trade future picks.
