I mean I don't know if it's an attack against our city necessarily but I do think waiting until right after opening night in the NBA to arrest Chauncey and Rozier was a little fuck you to the league at the very least. Seriously after a four year investigation, yesterday was the day that they execute arrest warrants and I'm supposed to think that has nothing to do with the vindictive nature of the current US Justice Department???My favorite part of all this are the people thinking Trump orchestrated all this to "Attack Portland" when the FBI has been investigating this for years. Not sure what is so convenient about the ways people cheat in poker, there are a bunch of tactics used and I never put anything past anyone when it comes to taking $ off someone else.

Maybe he leaks that some big time athlete likes to drink like a fish.Question the becomes who does he give up to save his ass
Doug Polk is very knowledgeable in all things poker. Good dude.
This is a must watch!
The Gilbert Arenas snitching connection is interesting.
right....and when Chauncey talked to the gambler and gave him inside information about injury status he was just innocently talking to a friendWhat will be interesting to me is if Chauncey's defense is that he had no idea about that cheating and that he did take payments to go to these poker games but it was his understanding that the payments were because he is a celebrity and his presence would attract more players.
I guess if the DOJ has witnesses that say that Chauncey was aware of the grift that it will be harder on Chauncey but unless there is a paper trail where Chauncey's position in the grift was specifically communicated to him, I think it will be very hard for the DOJ to prove Chauncey's guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
I usually get laughed at when I make these claims because people think it's crazy that the league would actually rig games. I've always thought is was crazy that people thought they didn't. When you're talking about tens of millions of dollars, people will do unthinkable things out of greed. A lot of rich people can be absolutely ruthless in pursuit of more money. It's never enough. The NBA is a billion dollar business, plain and simple. The game is a distant second in importance.
I've said for a long time, you can tell which games will be influenced early on, it's not necessarily just the calls at the end of the game. I don't believe they want to control who wins, but keep the games close so the fans stay tuned in...
Someone should see if Dunleavy rigged Game 7 2000 WCF

Dunleavy called the time out while we were fast breaking up 20 or whatever it was, right before the Lakers run. The moment was so weird it stuck with me....ummm, you spelled Steve Javie (Jack Nies, and Ken Mauer) wrong!!! Dunleavy wasn't wearing black and white stripes![]()
