Politics BREAKING NEWS: I WILL defy the doctors says Trump claiming 'our people want to return to work'

New York is the epicenter. More than half of all US cases are in New York State. If they were a country unto themselves, they'd only be behind China, Italy, Spain and Germany.
Lets not forget Jersey.

I'm a guy that's all about "balance", it's how I live my life. I try to understand other people's perspectives. I try to balance how I spend my time, my priorities. I try to have balanced reactions to things and to stay calm too. This situation has been very odd for me. We've had a lot going on in our personal lives so my wife is stressed out anyways and the situation with what's going on at a macro level has her really stressed out. My calmness is finally starting to tip a bit the last few days and I'm trying to just adjust myself back finding the right place mentally.

Anyways I have made the point for a while that I believe we have to be careful as to how we respond to this situation. It's easy to say, "Shut everything down for a few months and then start over", but that could kill a lot of people too. Seniors not getting the care they require when caretakers don't show up, families losing their entire income, suicides, mental health taking an even sharper turn towards depression and loneliness for people. When supply chains break down, and stores stop being restocked. Then there is the other side this is obviously a pretty dangerous virus, it seems to spread like wild-fire and it can and in some places already has buckled health-services, it really seems disastrous for the high-risk people who get it (elderly - and those with respiratory/cardiac issues).

I honestly have no idea what the right balance to this is. I really believe at this point too drastic of measures in either direction could and probably will kill many people, it will be a defining moment in the history of the country. While people I'm sure will come to the defense of Trump, and many will say he's evil and all he cares about is the economy for his election, and there might be some truth to it. The way I see it at this point is this is almost a no-win situation for anyone, and yes it was a lack of foresight by Trump and the feds and even our states, but what they decide to do going forward will be very interesting and literally nothing they do or don't do is going to be without fault.
Shutting down means shutting down non essential activity. For God's sake, it would not mean denying care for seniors. It means no ball games, no movie theaters, no beauty salons, no sit down restaurants, no music concerts, no state and county fairs, no Mardi Gras, no exercise gyms, no schools, no spring break at the Florida beaches, no Disneyland and so on.

agree...if Joe goes with a radical leftie, he lose's. If he goes with a moderate or even reasonable progressive he should win.
I don't know any women whom he might choose who are far Left. And there's zero chance that he'll choose Elizabeth Warren. I figure he's got to choose between Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar. Harris would be a good choice for Attorney General which leaves Klobuchar.

Actually it does mean that. We dont have a shutdown we have a stay at home please.

That's why we cram so many people in there--so we can forget about them!
Seriously though, residents of "that state between LA and Amazon" can't really say a whole lot about NYC-south's relevance.

Just remember, Joe also agrees that t a CV-19 cure will make the entire problem worse.....no matter what. Not certain if his comment was in the same vein as Trump's earlier similar comments, though.

Nor are others....

he waas referring to #1 have to take care of the cure #2 that, meaning trumps idea of opening things up to soon , makes the problem worse no matter what.
When your in mid 70's in politics you've learned to short speak and those that have been in Congress long enough know what you are saying. Kind of like the old art of short hand and being able to interpret, efficiency!

C'mon man. We're relevant. Try fitting 9 million people in the third smallest size state.
Smaller than one of Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Hawaii?

How about speaking so the voters can understand you?

The crazy thing is that people from NY were/are coming here due to the Coronavirus. It may be the pizza/tomatoes pies or our natural scenic beauty.
I've lived in New Jersey and in the Springtime it is beautiful. Also, they have absolutely outstanding pizza.

lol...agree 100%. Joe has always been a by the cuff kind of guy.
I don't mind what Joe says, I just can't stand it when he drones on and on. Okay, Joe, I got your point with the first substantive sentence.
