I think things like this are often done intentionally to shock, to expose ignorance in the masses.
 
so this isn't the normal situation? wouldn't that just confirm that the so-called ignorance is justified?
 
What creeps me out about the pic is the pose. He's on there, and he's got himself a big mouthful. And they're both looking at the camera.

Any woman breastfeeding a 5 year-old, biological or adopted, is batshit crazy, and must be treated as such, IMO.

If your first question is, "How much?", you are failing at parenting.

Funny. My wife is "still" breast feeding our 5 month old (tomorrow!), and her Mom is pushing my wife to start supplementing with baby food. This is all fine and good, and we are supplementing here and there (actually just giving him tastes of baby food because it's fun to watch), at the pace my wife deems appropriate. But the Mother-In-Law decided to send my wife this Time photo today. My wife didn't think it was real. I leaned in and said - "honey, that looks like a real Time cover...." - then I came downstairs, opened my laptop, and saw this thread. I will admit, there is no way I'd be ok with my wife breast feeding our Son at that age! Very strange. It was important to us to exclusively breast feed our Son for the first 6 months, but even that is proving to be a challenge. He exclusively breast fed for 4.5 months. We're in the process of transitioning now. I'd guess breast milk, one way or another, will be part of his diet at least until he's one. Be it pump, or by the breast. It's just so much better for them as they develop.

I'm kinda confused about what your point is but I think pictures of your wife's breasts would help to clear things up.

Reminds me of a time I went to the strip club for some event. It was either a birthday or bachelor party. My buddy is sitting right up front and the stripper is giving him lots of attention. Boobs all in his face. And I swear to God, she squirted him in the face. Lucky he had glasses on. All he could say to her: "Did you just squirt me with your milk?"

Never been much of a fan of strip clubs, anyway, but that pretty much killed any inkling I had for strip clubs.
