Please, try it again for some perspective.

Unless you expect Gardner to routinely have more than 50 SB in a season, we're really talking about a difference of 15-20 SB compared to his previous seasonal highs, aren't we?
And if you think this is a difference maker in the Yanks being a pennant contender,

Knowing your history of being an attention starved clown, somehow I doubt this...........................
 
Can we please just forget stolen bases. I'm talking about him at the plate. He has regressed horribly.
 
Is .275 with a .350 OBP and 30-35 stolen bases too much to ask from Gardner? Not very long ago he had some high stock.
 
In his 4 FULL seasons.....

2010 & 2011 averages = Games (155), ABs (493), SBs (48 of 59), SO (87), BB (70), BA (268), OBP (.364)

2013 & 2014 averages = Games (147), ABs (547), SBs (22 of 29), SO (130), BB (54), BA (265), OBP (.335)

So over the last 2 seasons he's running a LOT less, walking less & striking out more. And for this he was rewarded with a 4 year $52M contract. Go figure.

...not too much too ask, and of course I'd love to see it but he's only done it once, and that was 5 years ago.

...bottom line is that Gardner needs to stop his "working the count" BS and stop letting good pitches go by early in the count...once he gets in a 2 strike count he's pretty much an automatic out.

Which is why I don't see the 4 year contract when he's pretty much sucked the last 2.
 
That's why I laughed at that Gardner captain nonsense. Like I said he's a glorified fourth outfielder.

Half kidding. I love the kid's heart, when Jeter was hurt he acted more like Paulie. I'm hoping we see more of that firebrand in 2015. He was too reserved around DJ. That and I've always said his value is defense plus runs scored via OBP/SB. I'd like to see the 2010 stat line this year and next.

Hell be one of the veteran leaders in this clubhouse. Maybe Gary Sanchez is the next Captain after winning his back-to-back WS rings.

I'll settle for "only" 25-30 SB if he can do that.➡(.275/.350)
