Brian Berger of Business Sports Radio and a former Blazer employee, said on Sunday 6/13 during his show, that he had talked to many people about the KP -Paul Allen situation. Three points seemed to stand out for me:
1. Apparently the reason for the Tom Penn firing and KP being in limbo, includes that both men, at least somewhat openly, disparaged Paul Allen. This got back to Paul Allen and the consequences are being witnessed by all.
2. Berger said he would be very surprised if KP is still on the job in July. He expects that Larry Miller will take over on an interim basis.
3. Unlike Kenny Vance, Brian doesn't seem to really admire Mark Warkentein, and he said that Blazer fans can rest easy, because he doesn't think that Wark will become GM for the Blazers.
Berger said that he thought that KP had done a great job here, but bosses don't take kindly to cutting remarks behind their backs.
