Big deal. Western Washington University has 14,000 students, 99% female.

I've been gone for 7 hours, so I'll renew my clarion call for action which I kept tooting this afternoon: What did we give in the Brian Roberts "trade"? Has any great discoverer ventured there while I was gone, or will we never know?

We traded 75K cash to MIA for Roberts and a 2nd round pick.

I knew we had given Miami a 2nd-round pick, and since I posted my question, I read that we had given only cash. Thanks for the number $75,000, which is as low as you get in NBA trades. I haven't read anywhere, though, that we gave them a pick. Is there a source for this?

He, along with Aldirch, was my BAE/minimum target a few summers ago.

Capable scorer, ATROCIOUS defender.

Just cash to MIA for their player and their 2nd round pick.

We gave the Cavs a pick back that we got in the Haywood trade and they gave that pick to ORL in the other trade if that is what you are asking about.

I like our bench as is and they've been productive but I really think Roberts could help out and take pressure off of McCollum. Of course that would mean another wing would lose playing time so it's not happening.

I think the eventual goal is to play both CJ and Dame fewer minutes, some minutes without either of them in the game.

Yup:wink: Some of us already know the benefit that Roberts will bring & for those that don't know him/what he can do, no worries; unless someone watches a lot of basketball from other NBA teams, they're not going to see Roberts/know much about him BUT... soon unfamiliar Blazer fans will come to love this guy:ygrin: Roberts is a steady underrated player that's smart, a great teammate, unselfish, a great character guy, able to fill in admirably as a starter for several game stretches IF need b, & brings u good balance between assists + scoring (opponents must guard him otherwise he can get his own shot). @ minimum, once he's settled in (won't take long) he'll be averaging @ least ~8 points off the bench w/ ~ 4 assists (BUT his importance/impact will b greater vs. these #'s or any other #'s he'll b putting up).:smiley-yippee:

I think after his first game with the Blazers he is very happy to be here

Look, I'm not saying he can't be a very good b/u PG, but I don't know that I see him playing more than 1/3 the game (16mpg), tops. And only 1 person in the last 15 years has scored 8ppg with 4 apg in less than 20 mpg... last year's Dennis Schroeder at 19.7. Increase that to 24mpg, and you add in Ginobili and some of the more well-known backup PGs (Daniels, Augustin, Udrih, Watson).

So while he is probably a significant improvement on Timmy F, and is almost league-average PER on his best day, he barely averages 4 assists per 36...so I don't think he's going to get them in the 16mpg tops he's slated for. But you never know, so here's hoping!

Definitely see what u r saying/coming from; Schroeder is another underrated guy (can't pay so much attention to some of the #'s:wink:); Roberts is something like an Augustin or Udrih. The max minutes I c Roberts averaging would b ~21 (unlikely IMO given it's mostly Dame's & then CJ's minutes we're digging into; he will play more than this in some games though) but I think he'll average ~ 19 minutes (this is enough time to do damage ^). The way he's been mostly used from his former teams/their systems plays a factor too in the #'s he's produced/ can produce; I think w/ Stotts he'll have more opportunities/importance.

You made some good points ^ (he may or may not hit ^ marks but IMO I think he's good enough to do it) but really to me, the #'s aren't as important vs. the impact he has on our team/the game:smiley-yay:

Roberts will not average more than 12 minutes max on this team. He will have a game or two where he does 19 or so minutes but he isn't going to average that.

And with that said I still happy we have him!
