some interesting tidbits jumped out at me:

The second unit of Andre Miller, Rudy Fernandez, Martell Webster, Travis Outlaw and Greg Oden initially looked strong. Miller was as vocal as a point guard can be, shouting out commands and pointing out what he saw. Fernandez also ran the point, but the group appeared out of synch and a step slower when he controlled the ball.

Oden showed off an excellent offensive move. He caught the ball on the left block about seven feet away from the basket. He then faked left, spun right and put up a hook-jump hybrid. The ball rattled in. But as soon as it went through the hoop, a ref called Oden for an offensive foul.

Miller jokingly called out the refs for missing a call.

final five-minute game between the first and second units was stopped with more than four minutes to play. McMillan then had numerous Blazers put up two foul shots apiece, and baseline running drills interspersed the shots. Joel Przybilla began the shooting by missed two straight. All together, 36 foul shots were sent up and 28 came down true. Brandon Roy, Juwan Howard, Oden, Nicolas Batum, Webster and Miller were among those who made two straight free throws. Przybilla and Fernandez were the only Blazers to miss two straight.

Roy said his body feels terrific.

"Last year, I would go home and my knee would be a little swollen. Now, my knees are fine, my heel is fine, and I just feel good running up and down the floor. I noticed late in practice I'm getting stronger and getting more wind. This is the best I've felt this early in a training camp."

Good stuff.

I was really impressed with the Andre Miller article.

Rudy missed two free throws?

Wait, they were technical free throws right?

These past couple years, our team as a whole seems to suck at technical free throws. I wonder why. :dunno:

Man, Reggie Miller choked the color right out of himself in that sketch.

Funny, I was going to put that quote in my sig too! :)
