Yes, yes, yes...I know. 'LeBron won't come to Portland'.

Why not?

First rule in sales is that you can't sell your product if you don't ASK THE PERSON TO BUY IT.

He will never need to worry about money. Who cares if his sponsors have issues. Fire them and get a new sponsor. I'm sure the lines are fairly long (or short with fat pockets) to have his face on their products.

We have a young, fairly deep roster (10 players) that have already proven that they are able to help us.

What a tremendous city to raise his family in as well.

We all know money from the owner isn't a problem so there are ways to go about making this happen. If you have the money, always buy the best. Sign him, be over cap and pay the taxes (which wasn't all that bad of a number, I did it before they set it so I think it'd be about $9M this upcoming year, and a bit over $3M the next and then it's gone.) Sign and trade so he gets max value (but that one would probably be a tad trickier) but that eliminates the luxury tax issue. I have forecast the roster through 2019 and it sure is a pretty picture. Especially with LeBron on it. Let us also not forget what a few NBA titles would do for the city overall. We have an amazing pool of talent here, we all know we are missing one or two pieces. LeBron is two pieces.

For years my friends and I watched hoops pretty much daily until the jailblazer era hit. I hadn't really cared or watched in years like we used to. This team got probably almost all of us (I mean the city) back, believing and hungry for more. Lets not stay in a state of mediocrity for another decade. Win, and win now. I have attached my (very basic) attempt at the salary forecast through 2019. LeBron's numbers are a max deal with no sign and trade and the luxury tax numbers are much higher (on this attachment) than what they would be since they announced what the salary limit and tax threshold will be for next season.

Might be a pipe dream, but we'd be stupid not to ask and put the idea in his head. From what I can assess (watching Game 2 Miami vs Indy) is that Lebron is having a crappy game because he knows Cleveland got the number 1 pick for next season and he's already packing his bags to go home. :(

Oh well, lambaste away!!

Jason

P.S. Yes, Blazers I am available for hire. :)

(Side note - Not sold on Stott's offense. We all saw what a mid-range jump shooting offense does over 82 games. After we went 22-5 (81% clip on pace for 67 wins), we then went 32-23 (58% clip that would have resulted in winning 48 games and missing the playoffs). And the way the reigns were pulled in on our bench in the post-season was absolutely dumb. Yes, I know the history of the NBA and 'shortening the roster' for the postseason is once again, dumb. You play the guys that got you there. Don't stunt their growth by saying, 'Hey, I know you helped get us here but enjoy the pines unless we are getting blown out, and what you will provide then will just be fodder.' We had 6 (almost 8) guys that averaged at least 10 minutes a game throughout the season. In the postseason, our bench, not counting Mo, played 49.7 minutes TOTAL. If you don't count TR (that's my dog right there) the rest of the bench played 38.6 minutes total.)

Don't want him. Aldridge is at his career peak and I want to enjoy every juicy minute.

It's gonna take one hell of a grassroots movement, but hey, we're Portland!!

meh, id rather tank for thon maker 3 years from now, lebron would just keep us in a purgatory cycle of title winning

Let me come up with a Power Point Presentation, give me a pound of blow, three sheets of acid, and Jack Black. I'll get him.

I'm pretty sure every team in the league wants Lebron not just us lol

Looks like our boy JT beat you to the punch, consumed the goods himself and sent the power point presentation to LeBron via email.

Naw, that could be construed as tampering, well, maybe not since I am not an NBA employee...ripcityboy can have all he needs tho to get that s&%t handled!!

Lebron...... Come to Portland or I will shoot this dog. Okay not the most original thing in the world.

JT's thought process after the presentation:

as usual, i bet our idiot gm is just going to sit on his hands and not acquire lebron. typical.

btw jt, welcome! what are your thoughts on signing durant?

I prefer LeBron's makeup as a player. KD doesn't become available until 2016/17 and probably won't have much need to leave (except that he has to live in Oklahoma). I'm not getting your comment about our GM unless you are making a sarcastic statement after he went out and got us a bench. I told Larry Miller week one of the season that we'd be a top four playoff contender, I'm guessing most people still just hoped that we would get into the postseason.

Absolutely love it!!! We need that times 100!! Lol!! I mean seriously, if we were Detroit or Philly I can see it being a bad idea but there is absolutely zero downside to LBJ possibly making the choice to come here to win some titles. We just need to ask.

If LeBron signs with Portland, I will buy a pizza for every regular on this forum

I figured it out once, to get an extra large pizza at round table paying full price for every topping would be $127.50

I have fantasized about Oberon signing in pdx for the vet min. Had yo take a cold shower.

And let me guess- that's the one you'd want to order should it actually happen, right? ;)
