Stating the Rangers should have signed Chimera. Yeah. That's what they need. A 37 year old role player who cost over 2 million when they are trying to get younger, faster and have little cap room. I swear, that senile old fart is clueless. The mind boggling crap he puts out there is so dumb it's almost hard to believe he still has a job.

There would've been zero point in that. The team at best is a wild card who will get bounced early again.

If we didn't have Glass, I'd take Chimera but for $1-1.5M.

Chimera doesn't suck. He had 20 goals last year. However, he's old, not hungry and he probably would get 5 goals here. Pirri was scratched many times because of his defense. Last thing this team needs is role players who can't play any defense.

Chimera is looking for that one last payday. Any guy in his position looks to the Rangers and their rich tradition of overpaying over the hill players first.

Today he writes an article slamming Gorton for still have done jack to change the team. At least Brooks got something correct.

So looks like the forwards are

Zucc-Brass-Nash
Kreider-Step-Miller
Buch-Hayes-Fast
Grabner-Gerbe-Glass/Hrivik/Jensen

Lindberg jumping in when he is healthy

...:yikes

That can't be the finished product for the upcoming season. (I hope)

Gerbe is not a center. He's a wing. Hayes isn't a center either. Not when the lazy fuck can't win above 40% of his faceoffs.

Pretty sure Gerbe played center at times on CAR.. Makes more sense on the wing... I don't think they have a choice with Lindberg out

He took 5 face offs last year. 15 the year before that. Never taken more than 20 in a season. If they expect him to be our fourth line center this year that is a huge problem because not only does he not play that position but the guy is smaller than Zucc. Hrivik makes more sense there, that's where he played mostly with the pack

No. What makes sense is to have a 4th line of Hrvik-Fogarty-Nieves barring no trades. Our 4th line was crap last year. Rebuild an entire 4th line. Use 2, 4 year college guys that were not great offensively in college. Put them with Hrvik who looked great in his call up last year. Cut Glass or have him deported and send your dumbass coach a message. No more playing rejects. Gerbe to me should be in the AHL unless Zucc gets hurt. We have a guy like that who is 10 times better than Gerbe.

Right, giving two kids with zero NHL experience full-time roles makes perfect sense. I forgot you're already in tank mode.

I like Fogarty alot but i think he and Nieves definately need a full year in the A to develop a little more. Jensen seems to be a now or never guy. Fast imo is nothing more than a 4th line player, at least on a team going anywhere.

Forgarty and Nieves nees to play in the AHL before they got shots. They didn't have great college careers

Prod. You really are turning into a pussy who is afraid of giving kids a chance. It's mind boggling that you actually think this team can compete for a cup. You're about the only one. The dumbest comment in all of sports is, "Right, giving two kids with zero NHL experience full-time roles makes perfect sense". Spoken like the assholes of our past in this organization who never wanted to give kids a chance. As if no kids with zero NHL experience every got full time roles. If you could actually grasp how fucking stupid what you just said was. Oh my God. What happened to you.

Fogarty and Nieves don't need to play in the AHL if they are to be used in a defensive role on the 4th line. They both had 4 years of college are were used in defensive roles. While I'm not a big Nieves fan at all and have bad mouthed him. These are not 20 year old kids. They will be 23 and 24 next year. If you don't expect Fogarty or Nieves to score much, then you won't be disappointed. They are better than the horseshit that was on the 4th line last year.

What I see here is a few candyass fans who are getting all sentimental about rebuilding and giving kids a chance because of Hank. Well, tough shit if you don't win with Hank. That's life.

So many guys they could have signed for a year and they chose 5'5 Gerbe. Yea he plays hard but what the fuck. The team needs to get tougher, it got soft as fuck this offseason

While I wont bother responding to the name calling because the thought of you calling me, a guy I guarantee you have seen play on tv, a pussy, is laugh out loud funny, I will admit I was wrong in a way. It's not that playing two kids with no NHL experience is dumb. I definitely misspoke there. I should have clarified playing THOSE two kids makes no sense. Nieves game does not translate to a 4th line role. I've seen him play several times. He is not suited for that. Fogarty is a nice player and could grab a spot, but if both play 80 games for us we're done.

And it has nothing to do with me being against kids and not wanting to give them a chance. No idea what drugs you smoked to hallucinate that one. I wanted McIlrath in all last year. I beat Torts up for his Kreider treatment and AV his Miller treatment. I have Buch penciled into my top 9 next year. So you have me very very wrong in several ways buddy.

The reality is they aren't going to play those 2 unless they impress the hell out of the coaches in camp like Duclair did. As of how the 4th line will probably be Gerbe, Glass, Jensen, or Hrivik

Prod, you sound like Sather when he first got here. You are making insane statements about going with 2 players with no NHL experience. That's how all rookies break in. Lindberg, McIlrath and Skjei all had no NHL experience until last year. At times they were among the better players on the team. This is no longer a team that should be trying to win now. This team needs to take a major step back and rebuild for at least a year. Unless, somehow Gorton makes 2-3 unbelievable trades which it seems pretty obvious he can't do. The window as is, is closed. You are living in a world of make believe. I'd much rather spend all year seeing what McIlrath, Skjei, Hrvik, Fogarty, Nieves and Stromwall can do instead of the overpaid, lazy fucks we saw on the ice last year.

Fogarty probably could handle it right off the bat but Nieves is more of a work in progress who needs a little more development. And like Prodigy mentioned, he has top 9 ability in the long run.

The Pens won the Cup because they gave a couple of 23-24 year old guys play time, not comparing Fogarty/Nieves to Rust/Sheary but I don't see what the Rangers have to lose giving them a shot. I think the subtraction of the useless hump Dan Boyle from the roster immediately improves the team and while they'll miss Yandle's offense, his soft defense and team leading giveaways almost make things a wash. The biggest impediment to the Rangers success is the coach.

I can't talk sense to Prod any longer. He's lost his mind much like Chuck did and the dumb fuck idiots running this organization. Pissing away all our prospects and picks on moronic go for it all now trades. Same shit the dumb fuck organization did in the 80's and late 90's which led us into a decade of darkness. Not wanting to give prospects a chance.

What are you even talking about? Are you just looking for fights to pick? I am all about playing prospects..if they're actually NHL players, and if they are given the correct role to play. If you want to play Nieves on the fourth line full time just admit you are in full tank mode (something you used to kill the Pens for). Who is pissing away prospects? Play them, in the rolls they would actually succeed in.
