BRoy and Lillard talking in the corner

Wonder what they were saying to each other. If only I could be a fly on the wall (for that instance only, of course, because life as a fly would totally suck and be short-lived).

“I’ve been in contact with him since I got drafted here, we would have conversations all the time,” said Lillard. “We ended up in the same place at the same time, he came and said what’s up. I got out my seat and we just moved to a different spot, talked for about 20, 25 minutes. Most of it was about him just being in a similar situation as me before, you know, with a team that’s rebuilding, him having a lot of responsibility. We talked about ‘Man it would have been crazy if I would have gotten to play with you’ and he said the same.”

.....

“He just said a lot of stuff about how I was real similar to him in a lot of ways,” said Lillard. “When he got to Portland, a lot of the stuff he did, it brought excitement. I think the city really embraced him, they liked who he was as a person along with what he did as a player, obviously. I think because I kind of came and did the same thing, did some of the same things he did, I think he respects that… He was well respected, people appreciated the kind of person he was and he got it done on the floor. I think I can say the same for myself.”

More Lillard quotes in the above link.

My curiosity has been somewhat quenched, but there must have been more stuff that Roy and Dame talked about that he didn't want to share with Casey. Only the fly on the wall would know, though.

God, this Quick/Canzano-like morality play is tiresome reading.

While their games are dissimilar enough that they could have easily played alongside each other, much of their discussion during their time together at the LSI revolved around their similarities off the court, particularly the situations that they both found themselves in when they arrived in Portland.

Lillard also took the opportunity to tell Roy how much he appreciated the way he carried himself on and off the court, something a number of Trail Blazers fans would probably like to do if given the chance.

Spare me the religious sermon, Casey. You don't see this in Laker or Sonic reporting, my 2 teams of the past where I have lived. Only in Portland and maybe some hick town like Charlotte. Man, it's boring to muddle through the muck in stern authoritarian polemical diatribes like this.

What's the big deal about this, anyway?

Happens all the time at S2. Sly and Denny do this weekly, Sly bends down, touches his toes, and then it's over.

Doesn't mean a whole lot, other than a "conversation" occurred.
