bruins vs rangers

Let's see if Sather does a damn thing before the DL. We head in on a two game losing streak, where we really played poorly. Will Sather do anything, or sit on his a** again.

Being dominated?

They're playing and controlling the game just as much as the Rangers did in the first. Difference is, they have guys who can score and can push our guys away from the crease, we have guys like Callahan that can't score for shit, and guys like Klein who skate WAY out of position and allow a 2-on-1 because he's rather be at the blue line for no reason, rather than defending his man. If Klein doesn't abandon his man, the Bruins probably don't score there.

This is also why it concerns you having a goalie with an 8.5 mill cap hit, 1.5 mill higher than any other goalie. I am not sure that is the recipe for a SC winner. That extra money buried into your goalie means you have to cut corners elsewhere.

And that is game. When you totally out play a team and score 1 goal, it almost ALWAYS comes back to bite you.

I said it before the Hawks game, but I am very concerned with this start after the break...very concerned. The Hawks win made me think maybe it won't be that bad, but now yesterday and tonight, and I am very concerned again.

This is why you dont pay Callahan 6 million

I am very concerned our big trade DL move will be giving Ryan Callahan 36m

Plus, I am not so sure that Kesler won't break out again with a team change. If he doesn't want to play there anymore, I really think he could be re-energized on a new team in the US.

And he has a GREAT deal for the next two seasons.

Does he want to come here? And will Sather actually do ANYTHING before Wednesday? We'll see.

Teams like Boston can handle many shots and have the ability to cash in....thats what they do. All those shots...one frigen goal...now we are down by two. Need more talent.

Completely agree with you Al. It's the exact reason I said that despite controlling play, only having one goal was ridiculous. We need finishers, not more Callahans. If he wants 6.5 mil, let his bum ass go to buffalo and disappear.

Lets see what they do at the DL but its basically going to be a 20 game playoff series.

Team needs a McIlrath type player it's a glaring need

No debate from me Al. I agree on Cally. I do not like giving a player like Cally (22 goals and 45 points in a normal season) 6 mill per, especially for that long.

If it were me, unless we really cannot get any decent value, I 100% trade Cally by the DL. We are not winning a cup this year anyway, so why not. Why re-sign him to a terrible deal. If I can get solid value, I deal him for sure.

just fucking sell already at the dl. I told you it is an average hockey team. Too many star players make way too much money for what they are worth including that swedish goalie in net.

It's no secret how you beat the Rangers, you lean on them and you hit them for 60 minutes. They cannot play a full 60 minutes with a team that is bigger and stronger than they are. Then of course you throw in their inability to put the puck in the back of the net. If St Louis came here, he'd get his ass handed to him because the Rangers have nobody to watch his back ... or anybody's back that matter.

Sather, get up off your ass and make this team bigger and stronger.

It's really too bad St Louis has 1 more year. It seems they probably could sign him to a reasonable deal as a UFA since he lives in CT and wants to play here.

This team is so freaking frustrating

I'll tell you something else, McIlrath better have the goods starting next season. Otherwise that will be a disaster of a pick. I know a lot of you are talking him up and very excited for him to be ready (will that ever happen?), so I will go with that. But he better have the goods otherwise that is a disaster.

True but Boston is probably the worst match up for them especially in a series

I expected a better effort tonight

Another game where the opposing goalie has never looked better.........

I remember a time when we wanted to play Boston. I think it was last season. Now they beat us down every game.

Jam is 100% right. We have very few big, physical, pound you guys and it hurts. Nash is NOT that despite his size. We have no one on D like that. Maybe Kreider can get there...maybe.

But right now we really lack size with talent.

Think about this. We have Stralman, Klein, and Moore all playing defense. We have 3 legit defenders and them 3 crap defensemen. Stralman is a 5 at best. Klein and Moore are both a 6 at best. We STILL need a crease clearing dman and a dman that can shoot from the blue line; same needs we've had for the past, what, 5 seasons??? Fuckin Sather needs his fucking walking papers. Hopefully Dolan won't want the team with them having to relocate MSG and he'll sell to an owner that actually gives a shit about winning and not simply money.

I don't disagree jam, I am simply saying he better have the goods or we are F'd. We are putting a lot of hope into him. We'll see.

From where I sit, we very much reached for him, even if he is good, but we'll see how it plays out.

They came out with guns blazing, but as the Bruins begin to exert their physicality the Rangers begin to fold

Nash has size but since the concussions doesn't play the same....He played more physical in Columbus.

I understand why Dump doesn't want to trade Stepan but SC is right - This team has to get bigger and Kesler despite the risks is a way to do that.

I'm amazed they beat Chicago twice but they are almost an easier matchup with Crawford and not as physical.

We need size with talent...BADLY. If we could do Stepan and decent pieces for Kesler, I think we have to do it. We need more size.

And we better hope McIlrath is ready to give that to us on D next season. If he does our D is solid with the big 3, McIlrath, Moore, and Klein. If he doesn't we are in trouble.

Nice shot by Richards, we needed that. Let's see if we get some emotion going now.

Rangers can still win this game. The difference has just been Rask, despite the fact they push us around

In a way it is a shame we must buy Richards out this summer. If his contract was 1 mill or so less, and maybe lasted for 2 or 3 more years tops, we'd keep him for sure.

He is going to score 20 + and is a solid # 2 C still, plus he is a leader, but with that deal I don't see how we can keep him.

Agree Chuck. Richards has played pretty well this year but even the cap hit isn't nearly as big of a deal as the stupid CBA cap recapture penalty

Hard not to be frustrated with Stepan this season. I am frustrated with Nash also. And Kreider hasn't been that great either since his hot start. That line had a great 12 or so game run with Nash on fire, but outside of that they really have been a downer all season.
