The OKC method of trading their all-star for arguably the best PG in the league right now?

You’ve got quite high hopes for Camara or Ayton for that to be the case.

OKC is the gold-standard for how to do a rebuild and since traded their all-star(s) they have no playoff series wins, and haven't even played in the playoffs in 3 seasons. We're months out from trading our all-star, we didn't get near as much in return, so people expecting us to sniff the playoffs any time in the near future are likely to be let down.

I'm a little confused myself about what the Blazers are trying to "accomplish"

last night the veteran combo of Ant-Grant-Brogdon averaged 35 minutes between the three. They were the only 3 players that played 30 minutes or more. They took 58 of Portland's 86 shots (67%). That secured a meaningless win that might actually hurt their lottery chances

I know the argument could be the Blazers were trying to enhance the value of those three players, especially Grant & Brogdon, but I don't buy that for a second. All 30 teams know who those 3 players are and what they can and can not do.

At this point, I have no desire to watch a game where those 3 players dominate the offense and take more than 2/3rds of the shots
I agree. It’s too late for Billups to tinker with “winning lineups.” Play Scoot 36+ minutes as the lead guard every game. That’s what I’m interested in watching. That and the same for Sharpe. I also want to see who Walker can be with more responsibility.

Scoot will be the best PG in the league one day. Remember his 22-7-11 game? In a few seasons, he’ll average that. His work ethic is great. Look at how he turned his shooting around MIDSEASON. Imagine the improvement he’ll make with a full offseason to work on his game.

Scoot has nothing to do with it. OKC traded their star for a likely first team all NBA guard AND drafted really well.

Not to mention the guys they drafted aren’t small guards.

5'10 used to be a small guard... now 6'4 is small I guess.

1) Scoot isn’t 6’4
2) Even if he were 6’4, drafting a 6’4 guard to play along with your 6’3 guard and 6’5 SF means at least 2 of those players are undersized.

Point being, OKC isn’t pairing a bunch of shorties to play together.
