Last night, I picked up this game, Bully from Rockstar, the guys behind the GTA series. It is a lot of fun and a fresh approach to a videogame. It also is much much more streamlined than GTA.

How cool is Bully? I accidentally hit a girl, and she promptly kicks me in the nuts.

Lol heard about this game on the news, and saw the reactions of the parents towards the game. Saying how influencial games can be these days.

Yeah, just as much as how influential parents can be....of course they always need to look to blame someone else.

Bully has been compared to River City Ransom (NES/GBA).
This game is a lot of fun, The Prefects in the game are red dots on your radar. When you are supposed to be in class, the Prefects look for you and have a effect much alike in Metal Gear Solid where you could see the enemie's view and line of sight, and avoid it accordingly. Bully also has some pretty tight fighting engine controls, and I hope Rockstar is making something along the likes of this or better than this for GTA4.

In all honesty I think GTA is the most over-rated game around (especially San Andreas).

I do agree GTA are good games but I think they are made out to be a lot better then they really are.

Man, I love River City Ransom (role playing game + double dragon type fighting game). I should look for Bully then.

When I saw the title of this thread I thought it was going to be about the movie Bully... which if u don't already know, is probably the most perverted movie ever made.

As for the game, never heard of it (not really in-the-know when it comes to video games).... but if it's anything like river city ransom, then i'm sold.

River City Ransom...I remember playing the GBA version of that game..man it was addicting. I gotta check out Bully.

Bully is easily one of the best games I've played this year, and I think it's the best Rockstar game yet (and I'm a huge SA fan). It's a lot different than anything they've ever done, and they nail the school element right on the head. Plus, the game is hilarious. The dialogue is funny and a lot of the things you can do are great. Shoving kids in trashcans, kneeing someone in the nuts, giving a wedgie, all great fun.

I saw the commercial and it looked corny. It looked babyish but I was wondering why it was rated 15.

Damn, I gotta play this game...once I am done with Final Fantasy XII (Greatest game ever btw)

There's a whole lot of different things you can do and this is a lot different than any other game done by Rockstar. It's worth the buy if you ask me.

So is this game coming out for XBox? I spent all this cash on buying a 360, and then getting it fixed after my friend decided to get back at me for something by smashing it up, and now I can't even get the latest games?

I may be wrong, but it seems like it's just on PS2, because that's what all the commercials advertise it for.

It's just on a PS2. No news yet on whether it'll hit XBOX at a later date.

I was looking to see if this game was on PC, but it doesn't seem to be coming out for PC. I want to play this game, but I sold my ps2 last year. I want to get a PS3, but I don't know if I want to spend $600 for it.

I might as well just get a PS2 again w/ Bully.

Oh, is this game multiplayer by any chance? Not that it matters.

I think I'll wait to see if someone else gets and it see what it's like. If I like it, I'll probably buy it second hand. Speaking of Rockstar, I started San Andreas again.

I love playing GTA: SA. I had it for my PS2 before i sold it, then I bought it again for PC. I might start up again myself.

I've always preferred Vice City to SA. Not necessarily the gameplay, but I like the setting in that game more.

Really? I know my way around in Vice City better because it's smaller, but overall I enjoy SA better. I love just cruising to random places.

That's probably the only complaint. If Vice City were bigger, it would be no contest. I dunno, the whole '70's Miami feel was cool.

I thought it was eighties. And either way, the late seventies and all of the eighties sucked on all levels: trends, music, fashion, technology, and just the overall culture. San Andreas > Vice City --- GTA: London should be the best though.

I've heard that game sucked. Most critics say that it plays too much like GTA.

From my understanding, Scarface is ungodly repetitive and gets old pretty quickly. GTA, while it eventually got repetitive, it took a while, especially in San Andreas. And that wasn't necessarily cause of mission variance, though there was a pretty good amount of it, but it was simply cause of the sheer size of the landscape. In SA, you were always finding something new to do, somewhere new to go. Scarface doesn't have that, since it's only what, probaby about a third the size? Scarface doesn't interest me anyways. I don't think it looks that great. Beyond that, I have Bully and Splinter Cell: Double Agent to play, and come Tuesday, the game I've been waiting for all year, Guitar Hero 2.

I got Double Agent as well, plan on playing it when I am done with Final Fantasy XII I can't wait.

I thought it was weak in gameplay, but great in presentation. Rockstar did a great job emphasizing the youth aspect of the game where you take on the role of Jimmy. There isn't any killing, which is a refreshing approach to this type of free world game. Problem that kills this game? You do too many senseless "jobs" for NPCs that although progesses the storyline it doesn't make up for the fact that this game still plays out similar to Rockstar's past efforts. Someone still betrays you, as usual. You can basically expect the next thing to happen just around the corner. The interaction with people in the school and around town is extremely poor. Just a hello and how are you or pay someone to help you out with something.

The graphics have definitely improved though. No longer as with past Rockstar free world games do the characters have eagle talons for hands. The mouth movements look fairly realistic and the characters all move very nicely and smooth. There's some nice humor to the game too, such as the catch joke about farm animals which I found hilarious. The classes are stupid, although you earn nice pick ups the stuff you actually have to do in each one are childish mini-game challenges. Such as the Shop class or the most pathetic being Art. All-in-all this game is a good rental, then once you beat it and have some fun it has no life afterward. That's why the game is already priced below 20 bucks at some places.

Despite the aspect this game brings it still feels like GTA to me.

6/10 overall from me.
